I'm stuck on the disappearing 4 patch.
Totally stuck!
Maybe if I make a few more blocks I'll run out of steam...
But I don't know.
This block sure gotta hold of me!!!
Didn't it???
I used some flannels this time.
Pretty, huh?
I used 6" oops! 8 1/2" squares to make my D4Patches.
It only took FOUR blocks to make the quilt!!!
Then I used a 3" border...and a 5" border on the outside!
42"x42"
Today I hope to make some more wonky D4Patches
hoping my wonky quilt will grow to be
TWIN size!!!
But they are so darn cute! So glad to see this pattern re-visited.
ReplyDeleteI love this block... what a quick fun project for a baby quilt! Glad you're having such fun with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing what's captured your attention. So many possibilities! Love seeing these. They're inspiration for making children's quilts for missions.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely look like the quilter on the mission having lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteI googled it, and also found a disappearing 4 Patch Pinwheel block. I tried a few and they are fun, so nice to get pinwheels w/o sewing triangles!
ReplyDeleteHow far are you cutting from the seams .I made one yesterday cutting 1 inch from the seams but your's appears to be larger .
ReplyDeleteYou're on fire!! They're wonderful, the more the merrier!
ReplyDeleteIf it ain't broke, why fix it?? They look great!!
ReplyDeleteI'd say this would be a great place to be stuck as they look great! I'm in need of a quick baby quilt so yeah, maybe I'll get stuck with you.
ReplyDeleteI did receive your little house block and will play along; hopefully soon. I have figured out which fabrics to use, so... Thanks.-)
Hazel: I cut 3" from the seam.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great pattern...looks good any way you do it!
ReplyDeleteStuck in a good way, I'd say!
ReplyDeleteI love how the stripes dance in that block!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your quilts. I'm going to have to figure out the disappearing 4 and 9 patch quilts. I've been seeing them everywhere. Yours are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhoop-Whoop!
I'm loving these blocks. I'm going home today and try this out. I"ll let you know my progress later. I've had these 9 Patches for awhile and couldn't decide what to do with them. This looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteLove those blocks! I like any "disappearing" block, because it's so easy to make the original block, then cut and sew it back and have something entirely different. I don't blame you for being hooked on them!
ReplyDeleteI love the disappearing nine patch too! This is the first time I have seen it in just two colors. I love how they turned out!
ReplyDeleteI was pondering making these last night, first I have to do my other ideas though--such is quilting.
ReplyDeleteAnyway great job;)
I've never tried it, but it looks good!
ReplyDeleteI have made my fair share of the D9 Patch, so I know exactly why you are addicted to them. I love the stripes!
