I lost half of my sewing space this weekend.
This is the ONLY peaceful corner of the room now.
The rest of the room is in Explosion mode
as I try to condense!!!
My older children are at the age where they're home...
then they're not home...
then they're home again!!!
I've enjoyed a WHOLE room to myself over the last few months.
WOW!!!
I NEVER thought I'd ever have that!
I got carried away though....
I spread out.
I took advantage of the space.
Oh boy!!!
I've had some fun!!!
:)
It's over.
It's time to clean it up!
For a season, at least.
(One can dream, huh?)
Now....
I've run out of cubby holes to stash my stuff!!
EEEK!!!
So...
I lost some space...
But I also WON!
3rd place in the local art show!
Yippee!
The sky is painted with acrylic paint.
I pieced a simple landscape...
stitched a little by machine...
stitched a little by hand.
My little piece was the ONLY quilt!
Art shows are a fun way to share quilting with others!
I'm off to see if I can create some more
at my house!
:/
What a lovely quilt and congrats on winning a ribbon!
ReplyDeleteI share my sewing space with the dining room - so I feel your pain.
Congratulations on your ribbon - very cute mini. Oh, I need to spend some time re-organizing after playing with this last bunch of scraps.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the art award. beautiful job. Selina
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt - congrats on the ribbon! And what a great OPPORTUNITY to re-organize and re-prioritize your space!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the prize, Beth! I am still dreaming of a big in-house studio but am quite happy with my little (and recently decluttered) room. How is the preparations for the new family member going? They tend to claim their own space in the house too however small they might be.-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Beth! A well-deserved award - that's a lovely little quilt!! Good luck with the condensing - don't forget the space underneath beds - a great place to hide, er, store stuff!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That is such a nice little landscape. Good luck with the organizing of your sewing space....I think fabric just might multiply while we are not looking. Not in the good way, like we all of a sudden have more of the beautiful stuff, but in a bad way where it kind of explodes and we can't stuff it into a shelf any more!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in your landscape quilt are so peaceful. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mini quilt - congrats on the ribbon - way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteI sew by a window, too. The light is amazing when you are sewing, makes it so lovely to look out the window.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the win, it's a great quilt.I'm sitting here dreaming of moving my quilt frame into my daughter's room when she leaves for school in August.
ReplyDeleteThe extension table on your machine is larger than the one I have, is it custom made?
Your quilt is beautiful and is definitely a prize winner! I once read a story about a lady whose stash was so big she ran out of room in the house so she started storing fabrics in her car too, that's when you know you might have a little too much :)
ReplyDeletei want to know about your table that surrounds your juki... i have an extending table that came with my juki - but mine is a lot smaller than your is..... did you buy it separately??
ReplyDeletexo eva
Char and Eva,
ReplyDeleteDoes it look like the extension table goes around the machine in back a bit?? It doesn't. It's just blending into the white table! Wow! See what happens when you clean up?? Things begin to get bigger!!! ;)
Congratulations on the win. I seem to have a messy space in the house devoted to my childrens mess...oh I wish they would sort it out!
ReplyDeletethanks Beth,
ReplyDeletei can see clearly now....
the cutting mat goes under the extension table....and therefore i now can see!!!
xo
eva
congrats! aren't you clever?!
ReplyDeleteyou are so gracious about the changing spaces in your house. I wouldn't be so pleasant about giving up a whole sewing room, I'm afraid. . .
Dang, losing space. Dang. Love your quilt. What was the venue?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the ribbon. Your little quilt is so nice. Sorry to hear you are losing your sewing room. I know you will miss it. In time they will move out and be on their own and you can have it back. If one of my kids come back home they will have to sleep in the living room on the sofa!!!LOL
ReplyDeleteYou may have lost some space but you gained a ribbon. Yeh!!!! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your ribbon!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely piece, simple but very serene.
:D
Oh yeah, I see it now too!
