Here's something to munch on
while you're looking at all the quilts over here
at Amy's Blogger's quilt festival!
Banana Cake.
It always hits the spot!
I haven't decided YET what quilt I'll be entering!
I'll just enjoy the show for now.
Wow!!!
I just looked.
There are over 130 quilts already posted!!!
My goodness.
Blogger's problems didn't slow you quilters down ONE. BIT.
The recipe comes from this book
and I blogged about it last year here....
Just in case you want to do some easy baking!!
This cake looks a bit different than the one I made last year.
This time I just sprinkled the nuts on
right before baking instead of mixing them in the dough.
Oops!!!
I'm almost out of thread!
I bought this thread at a Hobby Lobby last year in Georgia.
My side of the country doesn't have any Hobby Lobbies!!!
Yikes!
Guess I'm on a treasure hunt here in southern California.
:/
What kind of thread is it Beth? Bread looks good.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn: It's a perle cotton size 12. I checked the quilt shop today and they have size 8, wrong color. I'm sure I'll find something! ;) Maybe I'll switch colors and then it will be a real "make do" kind of quilt!
ReplyDeleteYou can order from Hobby Lobby online, Beth... not sure what color you're looking for but try this URL: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/search/default.aspx?searchTerm=perle+cotton+12&guid=0c8646ee5a084eff94f5275d5553bb9c&operator=OR
ReplyDeleteIf you clock one MORE LIKE THIS under Add To Cart... you'll get the thread in colors..
Thanks for the recipe - I'll have to give it a try! And heaven knows, you've got a wonderful array of quilts to choose from for the Bloggers' Quilt Festival - I wouldn't know which to choose either!
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks delicious. Hope you find the thread you are looking for. Your quilt is so nice.
ReplyDeleteI have that book. I'm going to have to try the Banana cake. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh, that cake sounds yummy!
