Flannel Bibs

 I found something my daughter-in-law likes.
I can make these AGAIN and AGAIN...
and she'll use them
AGAIN AND AGAIN.
:)

I first made a couple...
and have been making...
A COUPLE
every so often.
Everytime I see my Little Granddaughter...
she has one on!
;)
Makes THIS grandma Happy. Happy.

I begin with this homemade pattern....
Drawn hastily onto a piece of paper.
Bibs are NOT an exact science. ;)



I lay that pattern down onto
Two pieces of flannel.
right sides together.

 Decorate the front of the bib.
Sew the rick rack or ribbon on.
I also used cotton fabric from my stash to
add interest on the first two bibs shown above.

 I made the ties by cutting cotton fabric
1 1/2" wide, 15" long
folding the raw edges in
and sewing.
 Lay the ties on top.
Put the back of bib right side down....


and sew the front and back together.....
Make sure you don't sew over the ties
that are inside. ;)
(You should also TRIM the seam around the neck
before turning it right side out.)
 Leave an opening.
This.....is.....
A VERY important step!!!
:)
Turn RIGHT side out.
Top stitch around the edge.
VIOLA!

I see many more bibs in MY future.

    I love the bibs, and tutorial is excellent. I made many flannel bibs years back when the grands were little but always bound the neck opening with bias tape. What a pain that is! Your way make so much more sense! Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Finn

    Thanks for the reminder abut bibs. My cousin is having a baby this summer and I've been fretting about having a quilt done in time, forgetting that there are other things I can make and give! Yours are lovely!
