I'm in a little scrappy quilt bee over at
the 15 minutes play blog!
Lynn requested bright houses.
Is this bright enough??
I tried something new to me....
Raw Edge Details.
I just cut the door and window out
and "free motioned" all over them.
I hope Lynn doesn't mind the raw edge part.
I usually do a little needle turn applique.
I was lazy this time.
But really...
The truth is....
I wanted to experiment!!
That to me is what makes quilting
SOOOooooo
much fun!!!
The fewer the rules...
The better!!!
Raw edge details definitely make this block low-fuss. Once I bought a template set for a house block but the small door and window pieces were very fiddly. I like your approach.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a lovely Christmas.
I couldn't agree more....no quilt rules....just quilt happy.
ReplyDeleteI love the raw edge approach on small pieces. And with the house blocks - they are fun and full of character.
ReplyDeleteLove your little house - so very bright and cheerful!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! If you don't try something new every now and then ... where's the fun ?!?!
ReplyDeleteLovely house for Lynn! Yes.. I think it is bright and she will love it! Raw edge applique is something I have never tried before.. but this makes me want to give it a go. I haven't mailed her blocks yet... Hmmm!!!
