solids.

I'm so excited about this block!!
This is my first quilt block made ONLY with solid colors.
I've wanted to do this for a l-o-n-g time!
I've been collecting some solid color fabrics.
They were either free or in the dollar pile
at the discount store.
I love the challenge of using what I have.
for example...
Why the brown background?
That was the biggest piece.

I'm having so much fun with this!!
Happy Quilting!
I'm off to play with solids!
I'm also adding this to Amy's

  1. How wonderful! I've been wanting to do something with all solids, too, and I've decided that this is the year. I love your blocks and that you are having so much fun with them.

  2. How fun! Seems like we don't even stick a solid in with other prints much, do we?

A couple years ago, I did a quilted rendition of a Cree Indian painting (very bold and bright) and actually had trouble finding the right shades of solid colors. I was frustrated with the lack of solids in my stash! Since then, I've made a point of trying to pick up some solids here and there.

Are you going to do a whole quilt or wall hanging with your solid color basket blocks?

  3. Yummy solids; they look great with the brown! I too love solids and have a huge collection, but I seem to keep saving them for something special...
