Monday making

I have been working on these little appliqué flowers.

This weekend I was able to FINISH all the blocks.

🙂

There are 16 in all.

These little diamond shapes were almost all complete

In a little baggie at the thrift store.

I was so happy to find them and give them some life!

I added the circles and the stems.

I will be adding to this quilt this week.

Hoping to add four triangles to each square

To set them ON POINT!

I have unearthed some blues....

I am looking forward to showing you the next step!

Monday making - backpacking and charity quilt

My husband has a backpacking trip scheduled very soon.

He’s trying to collect ALL the things.

🙂

One thing he requested :

A very small potholder!

Yes. I can do that. 

It was fun to figure out how to make it small yet FUNCTIONAL!

 It’s also kind of CUTE.

I also finished a donation quilt.

Quilt blocks. CHECK!

Border.  CHECK!

Quilted and bound. CHECK!

It's always a good feeling to FINISH.

Monday making - this and that

This week I made these SUPER cute potholders.

I used some leftovers....of course!

These were leftover strips from a honeybun package.

Little tiny strips only 1 1/2” wide!

I didn’t have many...

AND....

I didn’t NEED many.

🙂

 

I also ended up doing a little sewing at my daughter’s house.

We were visiting her family in Texas 

and I found I had more time on my hands than expected.

With ONLY a sewing machine and NO supplies....

What was I to DO???

Shop at the thrift store!

I found some fabric (shirts and pillowcases)

And got to work!!

Don't cringe TOO MUCH when you see the scissors I'm using.

LOL!

Monday making - Scraps and fences

This week I started ONE quilt with this hourglass variation....

And added a FENCE around my rose garden!!

I love playing with SCRAPS!!
