Friday Finish

It's just a simple quilt...
but I LOVE it!

I used a light gray fabric for the alternate square
(actually there are two grays that are similar in color)
and added SCRAPS of pink, yellow and blue.

Since I have been REALLY trying to use the fabric
I already HAVE....
I ran out of gray.

Not to worry.....

The border squares don't have any gray.

And that's JUST fine.

A Scrappy, Happy quilt.

This was my view as I put those squares together.

With a sewing machine
and a project along...
My camping trip was COMPLETE!

Monday Making

It's Monday.....
and Summer is in FULL swing!

I've been doing a lot of camping.
It's trailer camping...
so I'm not quite ROUGHING it.

I was able to finish this woven wrap
and I am SO proud of that FRINGE!!
I bought a little tool called a fringe twister.
Love the way it looks!!

I used my rigid heddle loom to weave this wrap
after seeing my friend Barbara weave hers!
We get LOTS of inspiration in blogland
dont' we???

So friends....
what are YOU up to this week??

Making anything?

My fun scrappy basket quilt top is NOW a quilt.

Quilting continues to challenge me.
As I meander along....I notice all the "oops" stitches....
They are literally RIGHT under my NOSE!

But when It's ALL done....

I'm content.

I don't notice ANY of the troublesome stitches.
They're ALL happily forgotten
and I'm ready to SLEEP in peace.

Monday Making

It's Monday again.
(technically sunday here......but YOU all get to Monday before I do!)
The weeks and days go SO fast!

I knit.
I quilt.
I weave.

It's a balancing act over here......
A little bit of this...
A little bit of that.
All the activity keeps me happy.

This wrap is in progress.
Who knows???
Maybe it'll be done this week.

Can you see the produce in the background??
I cook too.

Can't let all that garden goodness go to waste!!!!

What are you up to???

Link up and let us know what Monday making plans YOU have!

A teeny tiny trip

I began a journey yesterday.
Let's call it a HUNT!

I'm in the midst of finding the PERFECT pattern
for knitted baby socks/slippers.

I know this journey will be delightful!
It will involve trips to the library to find more knitting books.
It will include trips to the knitting shop to ask advice
and POSSIBLY purchase something appropriate for this quest.

It may or may NOT involve learning to knit a heel.....
and double pointed needles!
Isn't that called turning the heel??

Want to come along???
It would be so nice to travel with YOU!

If you happen to have any
"Traveling" advice on patterns...
Drop me note and I'll include it my
Wanderings with needles and yarn!!!!

The moccasin-like slippers above
are a twist on a basic baby booty pattern
that I've had for a while.
(something like this one)
It's a pretty basic KNIT, fold and add a seam pattern.
I added a ribbing to the cuff.

Working Wednesday

I'm not always proud of my machine quilting...
(there are tension issues, oops! moments, little puckers....)
But when it's all DONE...
I'm PROUD I did it!!!
I made the WHOLE thing!
That's what I need to focus on as I wrestle with my friend here.

I know I will love making my bed with this PINK and blue quilt!

Freedom Quilt

Putting these blocks together is the PERFECT way (I think)
to celebrate this time of year here in the U.S.

Thanks to everyone who sent blocks to be included.
MOST of the blocks are here......
There are a few more that will be puzzled into a SECOND quilt!
They will be quilted and bound
and then sent off to the wounded warrior project.

Isn't it beautiful???
I love it!
