Monday Making

I rolled THREE quilts up today
and found some gift bags to place them in.

I'm looking forward to driving around this week
and passing out some graduation quilts!!!

The girls all like similar colors...
so making them similar yet different was kind of fun!

I have a photo HERE of all of them BEFORE quilting.
The ladies at my church spent a Saturday making blocks
and then I put them all together and finished the quilts.

It is a yearly tradition that I LOVE.

Monday Making

It's been a good week.
One of my quilts is featured in an article in
Art Quilting Studio  magazine.

It is a fun quilt celebrating my husband's garden.
I used an old linen napkin
and did a lot of fusible applique in a collage style method.

I also began a new project.
I'm trying to make alternate squares for an old embroidery quilt project.
I'll keep you posted.
Little scrappy squares are SO fun to use!

Monday Making

Sometimes it's just nice to go OLD school
and make a simple potholder.
:)

It's hard to tell in these photos
but these are very CHUNKY potholders!

I used loops from some old t -shirt sleeves to make them.
It seems I can't throw ANY KIND of fabric away!!
LOL!

If you're interested, I did a little you tube "how to"
on my simple method.
Just in case YOU are one of those people who think
t-shirt sleeves left over from t-shirt quilts are worth saving.

This the loom I used.

I also started a new quilt.

I've always wanted a classic basket quilt.
Using my pink, green and brown scraps
I made lots of little half square triangles....
some baskets......
and VIOLA!
A quilt is growing!
Sashings and cornerstones up NEXT!

Monday Making

I pulled these stars out earlier in the week after finishing THREE quilts.
They were a nice little break between projects.
I pull them out now and again and sew a few just for FUN!!
Then...
I put them back in the little bag with all the scraps.

They're ready for the next time I need a little NO THINKING project.
:)
Someday...I'll have a quilt!!

This is the last of the THREE graduation quilts getting the binding on!!!
YEAH!!!!

I begin every day THESE days with this happy face.
Schooling at home has changed my routine quite a bit.

Not quite as much time to sew!
but...
The kitchen is right next to the "schoolroom"
So...
I've been doing more baking.

I put pictures on instagram once in a while
documenting home, garden and of course, quilts!!!

I just began a new project.
It is based on an OLD favorite of mine.
I'm liking the bright colors and softer background.

OK friends.

Monday Making - A Quilt Parade!

This is very FULL post with lots of pictures.
:)

This is my Table topper parade!!
These 11 "small quilts" were to be auctioned off last month
at an annual women's retreat.

Of course, the retreat had to be cancelled and these little quilts
will wait until NEXT year to find a loving home.

Enjoy the show!!
Many you've already seen....but it was fun to get them
ALL together for a REAL PARADE!!!

Which is YOUR favorite???

Three of these little quilts began with orphan blocks
from Chris....thank you SO MUCH!
It makes these all the more special!

*****************
I will probably continue posting about my husband's garden.
It keeps me BUSY!
LOL!
