free ribbon

After making this quilt for my neighbor
(which she loved, thank heavens!)
I had some leftovers.
You know, all those scraps left after quilting and binding.
I had an idea!!
I get so excited about ideas!
I'm sure I'm NOT the first to think of it...
but...
I've never heard of it.
SO...
It's my idea. :)

Cut those long scraps into 1" strips
and use for ribbon to present the quilt!

  1. What a great idea! I will steal that idea from you and wrap our Margaret's Hope Chest quilts like that! Fantastic!

  3. Your neighbor must have loved that quilt! I like how you mixed wonky stars with the t-shirt panels and the ribbon is the perfect way to present it!

  4. A couple/few years ago I wrapped all my Christmas presents in brown kraft paper and used strips of fabric for ribbons. I thought it turned out to be a cheery riot of color. (By gar, I think I should do that again . . . maybe for Christmas 2010!)

  5. Excellent idea!!

the only thing i'd thought of doing with those scraps was to make a scrappy pillow case to match the quilt...
