Thank you for joining in the fun!

LOVE all the different houses!

Isn't quilting the greatest??

It meets us RIGHT where we are.

I love ALL the details in these gorgeous

blog homes!!!!

I hope you can be thankful for

quilting and friends this year!

It really is a LOVELY neighborhood!!!

There are FOUR winners

who will receive 9 house blocks each.

I let MR. RANDOM generator do the work!

;)

Sheila, Rachael, Carol and Ida!

Congratulations!

We'll be looking for your HOUSE QUILTs!!!

wink! wink!!!!

You ALL were so generous

with extra houses and orphans

that I'll be BUSY for

QUITE a while

making some charity quilts!!!

May 2013

bring you lots of time to quilt

and many opportunities to GIVE!!!

3rd Annual Neighborhood party!

It's that time again!

Time to celebrate this AWESOME neighborhood

I call "Blogland"!!!

It's a GREAT place to own property.

Getting the blog address is fairly easy.

Neighbors are friendly.

There are even some FAMOUS people

that "live" here!

It's a place to connect.

A place to make friends.

A place to SHARE!!!

:)

If you're interested in CELEBRATING

All you need to do is construct one house block.

12 1/2" square.

Send the block to me.

I will group the houses into neighborhoods

and THEN....

I'll let Mr. random generator help me choose some winners!!!

The winners will receive

9-12 houses each...

Kind of depends on how many come in!

Here are the houses from two years ago....

(seems like yesterday!!)

all SPREAD out in my house!!!

If you'd like to play along,

leave a comment.

I will email you my address.

There are NO firm commitments here.

If you decide later NOT to sew a little house...

That's o.k.....Life happens..... ;)

Add your blog address on the front.

That makes it fun for the winners!!!

Deadline for these houses is

JANUARY 1, 2013.

LOTS of time!!!

************

NEW THIS YEAR!!!!

************

Send an extra house for a charity quilt!

(this is totally OPTIONAL)

I will be constructing these and

giving quilts to those in need.

There are LOTS of quilts needed

in the aftermath of SANDY!

Also...

You could send any 12 1/2" orphan block

for these charity quilts!!

They don't ALL have to be houses.

I'm excited!

This will be the best PARTY ever!!!!

I look forward to

CELEBRATING blogland with YOU!!!

Please include email address if you are

a no reply blogger,

some GREAT blogland houses!

What a cute quilt that will be!!!

Details here.

Construction 101

I'm getting ready for the neighborhood party!

Making the house is simple.

Adding the roof can get TRICKY.

:/

First cut yourself a triangle.

Choose a background and lay that triangle down.

Cut across one side of the roof.

Sew it on.

Press open.

Now....

Scoot that roof down to the right over your background fabric....

Cut again.

Sew it on.

Trim your block to 12" square.

VIOLA!

I hope you'll join us

as we celebrate blogland!!!!

Details HERE.

DEADLINE:

I need to receive your house block by...

 JANUARY 1, 2012

LOTS OF TIME!

Don't let those pesky ROOFS

keep you from a party!!!!

neighborhood update!

My little village is coming together!

Lots of zigzagging plus I added some details

with easy peasy steam-a-seam.

The clouds around the sun are one of my favorite details on here...

but I was so sad.

I used the very last bit of that fabric...

I didn't have enough for more clouds!!!

:(

Guess that's what you get when you

JUST use your stash.

And that's what I like to do!!!

It makes it more of a challenge!!

I think it needs at least one more border...

Blue?

Red?

a simple plaid??

The decision will keep my brain nice and busy today!;)

How about you?

Did you notice everyone's house project

over there on the sidebar?-------->

You should run around the neighborhood

and see what people are doing with their

little, tiny, itty bitty house!!!!

Pip even made a quilt with her

winning houses!

Woo Hoo!!!

Two More!!

I sent out little houses to all the blogland neighborhood participants,

And look what's left??!!!!

Two more!!!

Would you like to

*make a little something with one of these?
If you win....

*Let me know - with a comment or email.

*You'll have your project listed on my sidebar.

I'll choose two more players sometime on Monday

when I make it back to this wonderful

blogland neighborhood!

;)

Please do not comment IF you sent me a house block.

Your little tiny house is already on its way to YOU!!!!

plans change.

I sent out a BUNCH of little tiny houses today...;)

then....

I got to work.

What was I going to make with MY little house???

First thought:

Good thought:

PINCUSHION!!!

Yes!!

That's what I'll make with my little house.

I'll be able to use it frequently and remember

my great neighbors.

We all know plans change.

As I was digging around...

Looking for the perfect fabric I found...

The perfect orphan blocks
AND
the perfect NUMBER of orphan blocks!!
I couldn't have planned it better!

They were someone else's cast offs

that I enjoyed sewing together a few months ago.

Then they sat.....wondering where they'd end up!

They didn't have to wait too...too....long.

Who knew they were waiting for a little house to join them????

The seams don't all match up,

and the points aren't ALL there....

But, you won't tell...and neither will I!!!

That's what good neighbors do!
