Friday Finish

I'm happy to have a finish this Friday.

This is a very simple "I spy" quilt

using 5" squares.

I have a bag FULL of  Novelty prints

and my bag didn't disappoint me!!

I had JUST ENOUGH to make this quilt

without duplicating!

Whew!!!

The piano key border is just 2 1/2" strips cut width of fabric....

 sewn together in THREES and then cut into 4" segments.

 I only needed 3 sets of these long strip sets

PLUS a few extra pieces to 

get all the way around my quilt!

So simple and it goes together SO FAST!!!

Now....

I'm OFF to quilt!!!

Birthday quilt

Not EVERYONE gets a quilt for their birthday at my house...

but tomorrow  a little girlie DOES! ;)

This quilt contains so much LOVE.

I Spy squares from blogland friends....

Strips of scraps from other quilting friends....

And lots of MOMMY love!

I had a hard time choosing a green for the binding...

so I just PICKED them ALL!!!

I also tried out some fancy quilting stitches.

I don't STRESS about the quilting when it's for my little one!

Since my stash is LOW on big pieces I have been

Piecing my quilt backs.

So gratifying to USE up what I HAVE! :)

Here is my quilt's new home.

READY to be cuddled.

Ready to comfort.

Ready to be SPIED!

Field of flowers

I'm stitching a field of flowers among the

I spy blocks.

Kind of like snowflakes.....

No TWO are exactly alike.

;)

I'm aiming my needle in the center of each block....

Doodling Four corner petals.....

and then...

filling in four more between.

Wondering if the I spy blocks should get quilted

or

left alone!

??????

It's not all flowers and stitching here though.

5 inch FUN!

Today I'm working away on my I SPY quilt.

Carla had a swap in the summer and I played along.

I even had a bunch of blocks pieced together....

but I never finished it!

It needed a few more 5" I spy squares...

I'm sure

You know how that goes.....

You set it aside waiting to get more fabric...

and then.....

it gets forgotten! :/

My little girl's birthday is NEXT week

and I would love to get this one done for her!!!

Most eight year olds would not really appreciate this quilt..

but my little girl has some developmental delays and

I KNOW

She's going to have some fun with this one!!

It makes my stitching time

VERY happy

thinking about her sweet disposition

and

her enjoyment of LIFE!!!

I'm kind of proud of myself for piecing some of the blocks

that needed to GROW to be 5 inches!

Isn't that owl cute???

and these big trucks needed a little whimsy as they GREW!

NOISE!

The noise is DEAFENING over here!

My projects are all CALLING my name!!

It's so loud I can't think STRAIGHT!

Carla's I spy blocks are a happy noise!

I'm having fun thinking about the possibilities with these guys.

And....

These big flying geese would love to be quilted....

Now that Ms. JUki is feeling better...

I could get quilting....But....

I need to get a backing ready.

This OLD, old fabric is also calling my name!

I'd really love to play with this one today....
and make something...

Who knows what???

It wouldn't matter...

I'd have fun doing it.

But....

I can't decide WHERE to begin!

Oh yeah!

This mess is also crying out!!!

I'm plugging my ears to THIS kind of NOISE!

Thankfully.....

This donation quilt is now QUIET!

It's all ready for the guild meeting tomorrow night.

At Least SOMEONE is giving me a break!!!
