I love it. Not sure I'd love the Y seams. But like you said it is inspirational. Hugs
Yes, those are fun vintage fabrics. Those quilts can be great to just admire then move on; don't always have to buy I guess ;)
could you make it using HST instead of Y seams??sweet inspiration!!xoxoeva
What a fun welcoming quilt. Each block could be 4 squares with just 2 snowballed corners. I must try this.
I wonder if it was English paper pieced? It's a wonderful pattern and fabulous fabrics!!!
It is a charmer. I'm like you, usually a photo is enough. Though sometimes one demands to come home with me. I'm wrestling with one on etsy right now.
I love this block, too! Would be a great scrap buster! I, too, set out to sketch this without y-seams - I agree with Elaine, it could be made with 4 snowballs. But I like the hst method (as Vee suggested), as a 9-patch. I've got a big box of plaids just calling to make this block!
P.S. but if I make as a 9-patch, I won't get those beautiful mitered effect of this master stitcher - love those matched plaids too!
I'd have had a hard time passing that one up!
It's awesome! I would love one of these but I would make it as 4 hatchet blocks. Not too happy with lots of y-seams, they take too much time
