Lemonade

You may know the old saying....

"when life gives you lemons...
you make lemonade."

This is my attempt at doing that.

These are the lemons.

This.....

Is my YUMMY lemonade.
;)

I used my rigid heddle loom....
cotton thread for the warp
and
lots of 1 1/2" strips of fabric!!!
Tablerunner is 11"wide x 37"long

  4. I love it! How big is the loom? Is it your first loom? Would you start with another type rather than the rigid heddle you mentioned? Cheers! Toni

  6. how clever you are! I see now your etsy shop is up and running - or maybe it's always been and I'm out of touch?

  7. Love that! I have a wallhanging that I bought on vacation one year. It's from fabric strips from old clothes. The shop had looms and baskets of fabric strips for anyone to play with. I am itching to get a loom but I don't have enough time for the hobbies I already have, lol. Can you post about your loom and how you use it?

  8. Your lemonade is delicious . I'm still thinking of the loom but waiting as I too already have many things on the go.

  9. Those lemons made great lemonade! I like the fact that the graphic quality of the checked fabric still appears in the table runner.

  11. That looks great. I have 6 rugs (2' x 3') that I made with old ugly fabric. They transform the fabric. I told my husband that each of those rugs is probably worth $300. They wash great. I used the directions in a book from 1997 called Rugs from Rags. It gives directions on making a loom for both rug size and placemat size pieces.

  13. Nothing says "homey" like something hand woven. You are getting really good at it. Love these colors together like this. Wouldn't have made as nice a quilt.

  20. Your runner is very attractive. You wouldn't know what kind of lemons you used. A perfect solution to some of " those" fabrics we all have.
