summer project

This summer I needed a small project to take with me to dr. appts, camping trips, etc. I acquired a bag of ties last year at a quilt retreat. Yeah! They have been sitting in a bag waiting for me to deal with. I finally took the plunge and washed them. I then dissected them. Now I had a lot of silk fabric waiting. A nice way to make applique shapes is to use freezer paper, which I found online in 8 1/2 x 11 size and ready for the copy machine.
I ordered from http://www.cjenkinscompany.com/
Here is a picture of the paper and my hand drawn hexagons that I copied then cut out before ironing on to the ties.
O.k. now I'm already to sit somewhere and sew. I'll be dreaming about how big this quilt is going to be. Or should I only make a few and put together a pillow for someone?
