8 MORE little "H" blocks

and I can begin JOINING them into rows!!!

Hooray Hooray!!

Then....of course...

I'll have to add a border and WHO KNOWS

what that's going to be!

LOTS to dream about.

Today I sat down and did some trimming.

I wanted to be sure the blocks were all 3 1/2".

I was SO surprised to be SO close on most of them!!

It made me think/HOPE I'm improving 

on that 1/4" seam THING!!!

LOL!

I've also been trying to use UP some vintage yarn

that was passed down to me.

It's a mindless activity I enjoy.

And...

since I need AT LEAST 3 projects going at ONCE....

I began this toddler sweater.

Friday Finish

I have a LOFTY goal when it comes to quilting.

I TRY to make ONE charity quilt a month.

Sometimes I pick up a quilt kit at my guild

and sew it together.

Sometimes it's a quilt top that needs quilting.

It's a GOAL....

 I don't always succeed.

;)

I like goals.

They get me moving!

This month I used MY stash for charity!!

I have a plethora of orphan blocks.

Some from blogland friends

and some leftovers from MY projects!

I enjoyed trying to get some of them to play NICE together!

I didn't have quite enough for backing...

so I used two pieces.

It's nice to USE UP these little leftovers

and share a comfort quilt with someone

who needs some CHEER!

Monday Making

It's time to share about what YOU're making this week!!

I'm sure you're in the MIDDLE of something!

Or, if you're like me.....

You're in the middle of many SOMETHINGS!!!

I'm still plugging away at my "H" quilt.

My station is all set up next to the sewing machine.

I finally got SMART and set the small pieces in a plastic bin TOP,

so that I could move it out of the way when needed.

This is a LONG project folks!!!

One little 3 1/2" "H" at a time.

I also pulled out my orphan block box today

and think I might try to get these together

for a charity quilt.

Maybe some cornerstones and sashing???

Maybe a border of some kind to pull it together???

Those are the quilty questions that keep my mind buzzing!!!

Friday Finish

I have a small finish this week!

Hooray for finishes!

 I used  THIS pattern.  Simple and sweet.

I made the largest size (5)

and hope it fits my granddaughter someday!

I so loved this yarn I found recently...

I HAD to find something to make with it!!

This here is my ongoing sewing project.

A few minutes here...

a few minutes there...

Someday ALL those 3 1/2" blocks will be a QUILT!!

The question is...

HOW BIG will it BE???

Monday Making

My "H" quilt is growing!.....

SLOWLY....

The little pieces are all Sprawled out on my sewing table...

and I sew a couple of blocks together as time allows.

:)

The little "H"s don't take long at all!

At the rate I'm going it will be a very long time

before there is a QUILT!

This past week there was pretty much NO sewing time.

I was camping and took my loom along.

When camping...

I want to be OUTSIDE!

The leftover t-shirt strips

made a very PRETTY rug!

Monday Making

I am so happy to have a little finish.

But..

I'm also sad.

I really enjoyed the time I spent adding EACH line of color!

I have a little stash of  yarns.

Seems I can't say "NO" When I see balls of pretty color

at the thrift store!

I need to USE THEM UP!!

This little crochet blanket will be given to a baby boy!

I've been keeping busy with little tiny pieces!

Each "H" contains

Three 1 1/2" squares

and 

Two 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles.

This quilt I lovingly call....

UGLIES UNITE!!!

Lots of ugly fabric goes into making

a TRULY scrappy quilt!!

LOL!
