A little something for a new baby.
A special request.
:)

He's made up of recycled shirts.
Stripes and plaids.
A little bit of felt...
a FEW stitches....
Very chewable.
Very Washable.

The pocket even works!
Remember Corduroy??
I do.

LOVED making this little guy.
The hardest part was STUFFING those
THIN extremities.  ;)

Baby Shower!

I attended a wonderful baby shower today!
There were vintage books and toys....

Some terrific fabric.....
That I'm going to be searching for soon....

There were new books that looked vintage...
but weren't.

And new books that were
DEFINITELY NOT vintage....
LOL!!!

THEN....
There were the HOMEMADE gifts.
LOTS OF THEM!!!

Aren't these booties ADORABLE?

A knitted afghan made by one of the Grandmas.

Exquisite!

A small afghan made by a teenager!
This one just BLEW me AWAY!
It was so soft and sweet!

A little bunny rabbit....
Lying on top of an original print by
one of the new mom's friends!

A quilt from another Grandma....

And....
A Quilt from ME!!!

Baby showers...
Mmmm....Mmmmm...Good!!!!

creative frustration

I was frustrated last night.
Then I was frustrated this morning.
This little baby quilt.....36"x36".....
saved my sanity.
I kept walking over to the sewing machine
and stitching my frustration out!!

I used some flannel scraps.
See those four yellow blocks in the middle?
That's what I started with.
Then...I added some more blocks....
a couple of borders...
AND...
EVEN some rick rack!!!
Flannel backing.
The binding's even on!!!
Productive frustration!!!

Sewing therapy.
The best kind.

humble.

I love it when we can take something as
humble as a cloth diaper and turn into
something beautiful!!!

Jennifer did just that!
She added a simple flannel piece and
a little name tag.
Now won't that new Mommy enjoy wiping up
formula a little more??
Yes!

Here's a whole set of pretty things that are so practical!!

Lovely.
