Scraps on Friday

When you have a few scraps leftover from a project...

It's nice to make them USEFUL
RIGHT away!!!

Whip them up into little zipper bags!

Don't even let them LEAVE the cutting mat!!!

Any which way

It's cute......whichever way you look.

Inside.....

Outside......

Upside down.......

A special teacher gift made from these thrifted pajamas.
The hedgehogs were spied and I knew I'd find something to make with them someday!

Do I love the thrift store??
Yes I do!
Let me count the ways!

Another little gift made using this method:  Little zipper bag.
I love giving little SOMETHINGS away.  ;)

Little zipper bags

In MY life...
There's ALWAYS something to make for SOMEBODY!!!

My friend has a birthday tomorrow.
I've given her a quilt...
a bag....
a table runner....
another bag....
LOL!!
The years are flying by and her birthday comes EVERY year!
I'm running OUT of ideas friends!

AND....
I have more than ONE friend who has a birthday every YEAR.....
Believe it or NOT!
HaH!

I made two zipper bags this year.
Sort of matching bags.  ;)
I'll add a couple of little things.
Lotion?
A pretty plate?

While making the second bag
I uploaded a new video.
I have a quite a few friends that don't sew.
****GASP!****
I want to show them how DO-ABLE sewing is!

Yes.
I'm a beginner at youtube.
There are mistakes.
There are funny "I can't see that" moments!
Oh well.
It's done.
It's OUT THERE.
Just another PROOF I'm NOT a perfectionist.
I'm a GET IT DONE kind of girl.
It's done.
:)
That's always what counts in MY book.

Zoos and Bags

When I woke up today
I had NO IDEA I'd be sewing a Panda bear.
I knew I had two little friends coming over for the day....
I knew we were going to the zoo....
I knew we'd have some FUN!!!

We saw REAL animals at the zoo...
but we also saw the FAKE kind.
;)
This little bag was spied!

"I THINK I can make something like that", I said.

We came home and...
I pushed aside my quilting...

Ironing little pieces on....

Using a sketch as my guide.

Someone wanted a panda bear
and someone wanted a tiger.
"A WHITE tiger please".

A zipper on the bag
and a white strap completed the little bags.

They are not quite like the ones in the store...
they are better!
They are HOMEMADE!!!

The stitches are not perfect.
The lining is not super smooth.
The zipper is not perfectly straight.
They are HOMEMADE!!!
So much BETTER!

Why spend money when you have ALL the supplies you need at home??
The only thing I'm low on here is Zippers!!!

Two happy customers!!!

little something

This week...I made....
one little sewing bag....
For ME!

See?
I've already filled it with my JUNK!

Not to worry!
I can make more!

These decorator fabric samples
have been in my cupboard TOO LONG!

I'm using the samples ALL UP....
and it feels so good!

I should have a little bag ready
for ALL my friends...
IF...
I can gather up enough ZIPPERS!!!
;)

You'll find other fun Friday finishes
here and here!

Friday Finish

It's always a happy day
when the quilt lines are ALL in...
the binding is ON...

and you can call it
A QUILT!!!

I love the way this creamy floral softens the quilt up!
The striped binding makes me happy too!!!

Here's the back.
;)

Between quilting lines...
I took a BREAK!!!

Lines can be tedious.
:/

There were a few triangle shaped scraps on my sewing table!

I HAD to do some
CReative sewing!

A little zipper bag!

Hmmm...
Add a couple of beauty supplies
and
I'll have a little something ready for
a CHRISTMAS gift!!!

Half Square triangles will TRAVEL!

I used some Leftover blocks from this quilt to make a bag!

Well....truthfully...it's still a QUILT TOP!!!
But...
One of these days...
it'll be quilted!!!
;)
I hope.

I WAS going to make this gift a potholder gift
like the ones I made last week.
But....
My daughter recommended making a little bag instead.
I'm GLAD she did!
I love it!

I first quilted the outside with some diagonal lines..
and then...
added the zipper and lining.

Very simple.
Very sweet.

My orphan blocks DID it AGAIN!
I was also able to use some Orphan batting... LOL!!!
I sure have a LOT of little pieces around here!!!!

I'm imagining these half square triangles traveling
FAR and WIDE with their new owner!!!
She just returned from a big trip to AFRICA!
Who knows where she'll be off to next????
