Peaceful village

My little baby quilt with houses is now complete.
I'm Soooo in love with this quilt!

Houses! Trees! Stars!
and LOTS of swirls.

The little village is peacefully resting
in a gentle breeze!!!

As you can see here...
I've used my red gingham sheet again!!!
This sheet is like the fabric that NEVER ends!!
It looks good as a binding on so many quilts!!!
I'll keep using it
and keep LOOKING for another
red gingham sheet!!!

It's Tuesday, and I've crossed another quilt off my list!

My quilt top pile is a little bit lighter!!!!
Woohoo!!!!

I have a big TRIP planned for next week...
LONDON!!!
How much sewing can I accomplish
while I make plans????
That is the question!
A little sewing...
A little planning....
A little dreaming.....
Then...
A little more sewing!!!
LOL!

I'll have some time to roam around on my own while I'm there.
Dear husband will be in a couple of meetings.
I'd love to get some LONDON tips from you!

Unexpected happiness

After receiving an unexpected bag of presents scraps yesterday
I immediately set to work.
The bag was upended on the carpet...
and....
All the little strips and pieces were divided....
BY COLOR...
ALL around me!!!!

My son asked about the mess.
I ignored him.
;)

In the picture above you can see the blues
and orange/mustards I found!!!
I wanted to begin sewing them together
RIGHT AWAY!!!!

but.....

When the swirling was done....

I had some FUN!!!!

Since you asked.

A couple of you wanted to know how I did the stitches
 on this project yesterday.
I used my machine and curved all the way down each row.
Corner to corner.
I've tried this before with just one CURVE....
but when I double the curves in each square.....
my imperfections are HIDDEN. ;)

I do not like to mark quilting lines....
so this pattern worked great on this little table topper.

I began at the top of a row
and curved my line of stitching down to the opposite corner.

I then curved back UP to the top.

Then I curved down RIGHT next to the FIRST curve.

Here's the next SQUARE.
I did the same thing.

Down, up, and down again.

See???
Each square has THREE curves.

Here's the last bit.
When you get to the bottom of a row of squares....
You turn around and go back UP through
ALL the squares filling in
ONE MORE curved line.

Hope that explains it a bit.
I really like this quilting design...
but have to CONFESS.....
I rarely quilt this heavily on QUILTS.
I usually save these close stitches for small projects!!!!

Here's what I'm working on now.
SWIRLY lines ALL over.
It goes much faster....
and it's a quilting pattern that seems to
come easily for me.
We probably ALL have a "DOODLE" that's inside of us.
Well.....this is mine. ;)

When you're wrestling with a quilt...
You don't want to have to THINK too much. :/
