My friend wanted to make some wonky stars today...
so we worked together...
and figured out how it's done.
We began with 3" squares.
I dug through some scraps and found some yellow.
laid it down there....
Double checking that it would cover the corner of the block.
Yes.
It does.
:)
Sew it on.
Press open.
Trim.
Using the 3" square as a guide.
Viola!!!
One Star point....
Only 7 more to go!!!!
Two star points!
Oh....
Don't they look nice?
Here I am chain piecing those star points on!
Much easier.
PLUS...
I'm using some triangles cut from 3" squares.
It works perfectly!

I'll be making these for the next few years!!!!

ReplyDeleteGreat blocks to go with the space fabric. I haven't done the tiny size - but that would use up that over flowing pile as a change to postage stamp blocks (hey a few stars thrown in the stamp) ;

ReplyDeleteI am in a class and last Saturday I made wonky stars. Only mine had ISSUES (or maybe it was just ME)I sewed backwards, upside down and even too small. But I got the process down (I think) - maybe I should start a "how NOT to do it" Blog :)
