counting my blessings

As I sew today...
I'm counting my many blessings.
My mind is not full of
-fabric choices..
-pattern decisions...
-cutting mistakes...
I picked up a KIT!
My local quilt guild has these available every month.
Everything is ready to go!
I did not have to cut a thing.
I did not have to choose fabric.
Just sew those squares together and...
make a quilt!
All that's left now is to
pin and quilt it!
So today...
I'm counting blessings.
I'm not in a hospital needing one of these.
I'm not a lonely child needing one of these.
I'm not a struggling parent needing one of these.
...and there are so many other needs....
I get to MAKE one of these.
I'm thankful today.

  2. Isn't it wonderful to be able to make a quilt to give to someone in need? Our church ministry has been doing this for seven months now and it is a huge blessing to those of us who participate, as much as to the ones we give the quilts to! I may read your post to the ladies who come to our quilting bee this Saturday.... thanks for sharing!
