Monday Making

This week...
I hope to make headway on a little Christmas sewing.
I LOVE practical gifts
and..... Potholders NEVER go out of style.
;)

PLUS we ALL know...
there are PLENTY of SCRAPS to choose from!!!

This one just needs some binding.

I've also been doing a little knitting.
It ALL began with that ball of yarn from the thrift store.
"What could I make from it??"

I spent some time with Elizabeth during my coffee break....

Now...I'm spending time with Lorilee on youtube.
I'm still trying to figure it out.
:/
Getting my BRAIN cells some exercise I guess.
It's called the baby surprise jacket.

I've also been making MEMORIES.

Here he is. My fourth child.
My first foster child.
My adopted son.
and....
A college senior ALREADY!!!!

Yesterday he was a wiggly little redhead
with TOO much energy!!!!
Today he's on the brink of adulthood.
(poor thing....LOL!)

We were able to make it to the last home game
and the seniors were recognized.
A proud Mama moment for sure!

O.K. Friends.
What are YOU making this week???

  1. Hope that thrift-shop yarn will be enough for the jacket! I'm in the midst of a new scrappy project, too. Your potholder reminds me of HeartStrings blocks.

  2. The baby surprise jacket. Yes, a wee challenge! I made one recently. The first time I had knitted for about 15 years. It is the cutest pattern.

  3. A good reminder to start some little projects for Christmas. I am amazed it's already so close. The picture of your husband, son, and you says it all. I think you are so lucky to be together, and the love shows. Congratulations on being on the tail end of tuition, too!

  5. Oooh... I sure hope you figure out the baby surprise jacket. I have the pattern. I may even have yarn... but I am going to make one for Theo now and then he can grow into it. I need specific directions and I'm not sure if the directions are specific enough. I know the sizing info is a bit sketchy. Yea for potholders. And good for you for starting on your Christmas projects. I hope to as soon as I finish a sock...yep, just one sock.

  6. Christmas projects? I'm still behind on my SUMMER projects... or maybe just getting an early start on NEXT summer's projects. It's all a matter of perspective, right? Priorities factor in, too; my oldest is in 10th grade this year and even though he feels like he's barely started high school, I know I'll be in your shoes with a graduating senior before I know it. Good for you, Proud Mama!
