I started this quilt yesterday for
some friends celebrating
50 YEARS of marriage!
If you look closely, you'll see the strips
are not sewn together yet,
and there is NO center block. :)
She's a musician (see the music fabric?)
He's a scientist....and I
TRIED to find some fun science fabric!
I saw tons of novelty fabrics....
nothing like what I wanted...
oh well...
Here it is so far.
Today: add a border and maybe...
Applique?
I haven't decided.
Have a great day.
Enjoy the end of summer!
Hi Beth, This is a wonderful quilt! The music fabric is perfect-how funny that there was no "science" fabric! They should sell little microscopes or something:-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt. Jay McCarroll is going to come out with a line of fabric called "Germania". It's adorable - but a little late for this quilt. lol
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice. Beautiful fabric.
ReplyDeleteIt's great! I think 50 years deserves a gorgeous quilt!! ;-)
ReplyDelete"Trip Around the World" . . . don'tcha just love the good, old-fashioned patterns? What terrific colors/fabrics for a couple. Not too feminine or masculine. Great quilt.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth...I love your blog AND all your quilty goodness....I'll definitely be back!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite kind of patchworks are of the scrappy kind... this is lovely!!
ReplyDeleteThe music fabric is what I spotted the first, I do the same with the few projects I've done... I try to tie some kind of fabric in to the project that "belongs" to the person/people I'm making it for.
I'm glad I found your blog today!!!
