how many?

I began this quilt with Victoria's 15 minutes.
Scrappy blocks and
square in a square blocks.
I used lots of scraps...
but believe it or not...
I still have some left!!!!
I also used my vintage linen stash!
Yeah! for old sheets!!!

How many 6" blocks did it take to make a twin size quilt?
65 scrappy crazy blocks....and....
65 square in a square blocks!!!

130 total!!
I'm glad I didn't figure it out before I began...
I may not have begun....

I didn't even get to the magic twin size with that!!
I was lazy and added a border.
Now the quilt measures 65"x85".
I think that's a respectable twin size.

I like this scrappy quilt.

And since it's a make do kind of quilt...
I made do...
and used some fabric in my stash for the border.
Probably NOT what I would have purchased...
but it works.

I had imagined using one of my bigger vintage sheets
for the border...but what it looked like in my mind....
was NOT very good in real life!!

I'll add this to Amy's sew and tell
and also to the vintage sheet blog.
They are giving away some lovely fabric over there!!!

one sheet.

I have a little pile of vintage sheets at my house.
They keep looking at me...
Hinting they'd like some company.
Could I please find one more pretty sheet
before sending them away to
the vintage sheet patchwork swap??
"O.k.", I thought.
"I do like to shop at thrift stores.
Maybe there's another sheet wanting to
be turned into a quilt out there!"
I found more than one.

In fact, I had to leave some of the pretty sheets there.
:( :(

I couldn't buy them all...
Too bad.
I'll be cutting these up tomorrow...
Then I need to send them off!!
Maybe when that little pile is not looking at me,
I'll get my mind OFF of vintage sheets!!

And, of course you know, I did not leave the store without
some other little goodies!!
Fabric for my stash...

And this little doily.

I just l-o-v-e little things like this!

You see what shopping for
ONE sheet got me???

Monday. Monday.

I've joined a vintage sheet swap!
More info is here.
So today I'm cutting sheets....
And folding sheets......
And dreaming about all the cute sheets I'm going to
receive in the mail.
I love to dream!!

Then I'm going to take these strips and squares...

And fill in the blanks here.
This is my Third quilt for the graduating seniors.
Only four more after this one!!
