Friday

They are DONE.
Woo HOO!!

This twin sized matching set is now ready for it's new home.

I love the soft colors.....
and of course green and blue are such a GREAT combo.

Using vintage with a dash of current fabric
is ALSO a great combo!

Happy sewing friends!

Friday Finish

Don't you just love these soft blues and greens??
I do.

This quilt contains lots of vintage linen...
PLUS a host of this and that from my stash.

What a wonderful mix of color!

This commissioned quilt gets to have a TWIN!!
I'll be sewing more of these beautiful squares together this week.

My sewing machine is very happy to be piecing all this gorgeous color!

Lover's Links

My favorite kind of quilt to make is improvisational,
Scrappy and UN-planned.
THIS is NOT that quilt.
LOL!

Every once in a while I step out of my comfort zone
and follow a pattern.
This time...
my points didn't get TOO lost
and the seams cooperated with me!

I had some binding suggestions last week
from quilting friends....
and ended up with YELLOW!!

Not what I THOUGHT I was going to use...
but that's what POPPED out
when I was digging around here for something.
;)
And I think it makes this quilt a little BRIGHTER and happier!

I'm very happy with my quilt!

I used reproduction fabrics PLUS other things I thought fit in.
My method is.....
USE what YOU have!

Pattern from an old McCalls magazine (august 2000).
Google lover's links images
and you'll find a host of others.

Technology and a Twin bed

This week has been a FULL week of new technology challenges.
:)

It all began with a new phone.

There were so many places to explore.
Instagram....youtube....the iphone WORLD!!!

But...
I managed to get a quilt together!

It was an easy and quick quilt to make...
AND....it's all done.

It's even a respectable TWIN size!
60"x80"

All I did for this quilt was cut 12" strips from the fabrics.
(selvage to selvage)
Then...I cut them into random chunks.

I lined the chunks up in rows 60" long wide
They're all 12" tall.

sewed the chunks in rows....then....
pinned and got rows together!!!

It took 7 rows to make it long enough.

My granddaughter has a BIG bed now
and I needed something ASAP to cover her up.
:)

Friday

One twin size quilt
using shirts and other assorted plaids and stripes.

PLUS....
Lots of 2 1/2" squares from my drawer.
I'll NEVER use them ALL up
no matter HOW HARD I try!
;)

Don't we all LOVE these homey quilts???

This quilt is for a special little boy's BIG BED!
Need to get it quilted....
so he can GROW UP!!!

(This quilt is EXTRA special.
I made the wedding quilt....
The baby quilt...
and NOW....
I was ASKED to make this one!)
