I was very happy to work on this happy scrappy quilt this week.
The block I call “square dance” and I love the way the strips of fabric twirl around.
And, of course, the fact that it's VERY scrappy makes me smile.
I also made a few scrunchies for the girls in my family.
I made just ONE out of velvet....and think I may make some more with some
Fancy or unusual fabrics!
You can probably guess my stash gives me a few options.
I pulled out some stripes and started this little quilt.
Stripes are one of my VERY favorite kinds of fabric!
Anyone else have a weakness for donuts??
I purchased a donut pan (like a muffin tin)
What are YOU making this week???
Yum on the doughnuts. Are they cake doughnuts rather than fried? They sound delicious. I'm not sure the girls in the family would wear scrunchies. The little girls both have long hair. I'll ask the Moms what they think. Thanks for the idea. Stripes as HST look great. You've got a nice bunch of scraps going into Sq Dance.ReplyDelete
The donuts are baked and dipped in butter and cinnamon/sugar mix after. So yummy!Delete
I like the stripes as well. Square Dance would make a great QOV.ReplyDelete
Love the movement in both your in progress quilts. Square Dance is full of scrappy goodness and the stripes are just fun. Donuts are yummy, but not so good for the waistline. Yours look yummy.ReplyDelete
The doughnuts look yummy! Thanks for the recipe link!ReplyDelete
Ohhh I LOVE your Square dance quilt!!! It is so pretty and has such great movement!!!ReplyDelete
I can totally see how sewing scrunchies could lead to baking donuts!!!ReplyDelete
Square Dance is a fabulous take on a string kind of scrappy block. Yours looks wonderful! And yes to donuts too.ReplyDelete
I like what that stripe fabric is making - very cool design!ReplyDelete

Beautiful quilt and I love the scrunchies. I have a lot of scraps, great idea and I do wear them myself.ReplyDelete
What a beautiful quilt and lovely post :) Now, I'm going back and clicking on some of the other bloggers to see what they have posted here. Great post, thank you :)ReplyDelete
I have never made baked doughnuts before. I have fried spudnuts before though. They are amazing and so light and fluffy. Yes, you put mashed potatoes in them.ReplyDelete
I would not have thought to use stripes in pinwills, but they look amazing!
