Hello quilting friends!
I'm home from a busy weekend and all I can think about is
SLEEP.
:)
I may open this "BRAND new"
Vintage package of embroidered quilt squares this week.
I found this pack at a thrift store for $2.
There are enough squares to make a QUEEN sized quilt!
***OOPS! I just checked.***
NOT. queen. sized.
:/
Don't ever give me an important job.
Haha!!!
I have to say...
I haven't seen a quilt made with these yet!
Have YOU?
Link up and share about what YOU'RE making this week!
That was quite a find at the thrift shop! I, too, was thrifting this weekend and found about 8 fat quarter's of 30s fabrics.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've seen and made several quilts from those type of embroidered blocks. They are very popular in our area. Are you sure there are enough blocks for a queen sized quilt in the bag? Often there are only 6 or maybe 12 stamped blocks. I'll look for some embroidery progress next week.
ReplyDeleteI just checked. You're RIGHT! There are NOT enough blocks for queen size. LOL!!! Don't let me do anything important. I'm sure to mess up on the details. HAha
DeleteLooks like fun. Happy hand stitching this week.
ReplyDeleteThat means it was a great retreat right?
ReplyDeleteYes. Yes. Yes. I had a great retreat weekend. :)
DeleteI have found blocks like that at the thrift store too but like Gretchen said...there are just a few blocks inside.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I would love it.
ReplyDeleteThe company is still in business. https://www.jdneedleart.com/
ReplyDelete(I hadn't heard of it before. Like Herrschners or LeeWards, I guess.) I have several still-in-package quilt kits that I include in my quilt history program.
I use to make the pillowcases. I had an 'auntie' who did these kinds of blocks - wonder where all of those are.
ReplyDeleteLucky find. Either I didn't visit the right thrift stores or did not go enough.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous and what a great cause you've made them for xx
