String Quilt

I finished a string quilt today.
The 1 1/2" strips were hand me downs.
Not sure I would have put these colors together....
but it's a SCRAP quilt.
The very BEST kind.
;)

These little strips of cotton
make me so happy!

As soon as I finished the last seam...
I ran to my daughter's room to see if it FIT!!

It DOES!

 IF I had to choose a favorite KIND of quilt....
The string quilt would be IT!!!!
;)

what's your favorite?

This is all I had left when I was done.

So happy to use ALMOST ALL of the scraps!!
My scrap bucket can't fit any MORE!!!

    Now if I hadn't just used up all my strings in a HST string block quilt, you would have me running to play with this. What a lovely little girl's bed quilt - looks like woven ribbons.

    A very happy quilt, looks great on your daughters bed. I really like 16 patch quilts currently, something satisfying about locking seams when you join the blocks.

    Thanks so much for posting this. I had in my mind that string quilts have to be on the diagonal. I had never thought to put them in a rail fence type layout. :)

    Lovely string quilt. scrappy..... yes favourite kind too!!!
    hm.... probably my favourite quilt block would be HST, but that's not to say other blocks aren't fabulous as well. i find the HST is so versatile; you can make so many different quilts out of a HST.

    Love your wonderful string quilt. String quilts and 16-patch block quilts are my favorites. I'm cutting my scraps into strips and squares for future quilts.

    love your string quilt. how fun! looks great on the bed too. I am a scrappy kind of girl and love all quilt styles but dresdans and feathered stars call to me. have not made a feathered star yet but someday.......

    I have a different favorite everytime I see a quilt I like LOL! but I'd have to say that String quilts ar right up there with Crazy quilts and Postage Stamps and, and...see??? hahaha

    So pretty on the spool bed, I love it! Scrappy is always best and I'm partial to log cabins, too, even though I keep making Jacob's Ladders, LOL!
