I'm still working away on this pillow.
LOTS of handquilting.
Round and round I go!!!
IF....We had more Doctor appointments
I'd be farther along.
I'm COUNTING my blessings...
but....
Not moving along very quickly here! ;/
This is a product that helps me out!!!
Maybe you know ALL about it already.
My Mother-in-law didn't....
so I thought I'd mention it to YOU!
I just press my finger on the thread...
pull it through over the "thread heaven"
and
VOILA!!!!
No MORE knots as I sew along!!!!
It's great for ANY hand sewing project.
;)
One of the ONLY problems with this product is...
IT'S WAY too small!!!
It's always getting LOST in my sewing bag!!!
That looks like a great product. I use the beeswax and wonder if it is similar.
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is lovely.
This sounds like great stuff. I had never heard of it so thanks. Is this something you can pick up at Joanns or do you need to go to a LQS? Selina
ReplyDeleteSelina: I bought mine at a LQS. You can link over to the thread heaven site and get more info. ;)
ReplyDeleteDUH.... I have it for embroidery and never thought to use it for hand quilting....thanks for gentle head slap. Your stitches look terrific so nice and even.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sewing
Seems like a great product, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletei love thread heaven...i have posted about it before. it makes such a difference.
ReplyDeleteDifficult to see, but is it like a piece of wax that you pull your threads over before you start sewing?
ReplyDeleteSheila: Yes. Similar to wax...but not wax. The thread heaven website has a very good description of their product.
ReplyDeleteBeth, you are so full of good ideas. Sort of like my own little quilt angel. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of this product before, so looking forward to trying it out. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm always so inspired when I come here.
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on fellow bloggers and wondering how you are doing?
So many pretty quilts here.
Happy Quilting!
Hugs, Deborah
It's one of my favorite notions! And I love the handwork progress!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder! I know you've shown me this before. Last time I embroidered I was trying to remember this little trick of yours. I need to remember this when I'm out and about so I can pick some up...

is it beeswax? I always pull my handsewing thread through a block of beeswax. My kids love to handle it and smell it too.
