Does anyone else ever have this problem?

"Oops! I messed up!"...
"Seam ripper time!!!"

My big kids laugh at me as I talk myself through
these little difficulties!

I made this and thought....
"Great! I'm done with my bee block!"

Then.....I looked at the directions one more time.
I ripped out some white squares...
added some half square triangles....

AAaah! That's better.
Good thing I double checked!!

  1. Yep. That's a lot of little squares so an easy-to-do error. Looks good Beth.

  2. You are funny! The block looks very nice!
Do you ever use a small design board next to your machine? I have a little piece of foam board covered with fleece next to my sewing station. Whenever I am working on a large block with million little pieces, I lay the pieces on it so I don't make a mistake. The terrible thing is... I still do at times!!! But it helps most of the time!

  3. I can see myself getting a bit confused on that block...lots of pieces to keep straight! It turned out just lovely!

  4. The seam ripper is my best friend!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

PS Your blog is pretty great!!

  5. Check out this blogpost/tutorial - a really interesting way to work with a lot of small squares with intricate placing.

This is so simple I'm sorry I didn't think of it first!!

    Your block is beautiful!!

  6. You Always...amaze me!!!

    truly truly LOVE your blog!!!

  7. The pictures you posted were like the ones where you are supposed to "find 10 things that are different," I had to look really hard to find the differences between them! Guess mine is an untrained eye. Fun quilt! Maybe I oughtta try it sometime...

  8. i love all the fresh colors with the white - so cooling and easy on the eye. I became a much better sewer when I became willing to rip out mistakes :)

  9. I absolutely love the block - and so sorry it was such a pain (I would have loved it either way). Thanks so much for all your hard work.
