Monday Making

It was a good week.
I was able to get some patchwork cushions/pillows made.
I love the soft palette!
Those decorator fabric samples stashed away came in VERY handy!

I also did a little charity sewing.
It is SO satisfying AND peaceful to sew for others.
Plus....
Sewing squares takes next to NO brain power.  Hahah
It always puts me in a better mood.
😉

I’ve added videos to my YouTube channel this week for both of these projects.
Much like the blog....my youtube channel gives me a chance
To sew with friends around the world!
I love it.

Monday Making

I love this quilt top.
The colors are some of my favorites!

The mix of colors was inspired by the leaf in the bottom center.
Taking a fabric with many colors and repeating those colors in the quilt is one of my GO TO ways of choosing the fabrics for scrappy quilts!

Here is the simple block that got it all started.
The nine patches sort of float between the leaves
And I like that too!!

I added a little tutorial on my youtube channel if you’re interested.

Monday Making

I continue to play with my dresden plate ruler.....and I...
Love.this.block!

I'm calling it "sunshiny day"
and I hope to have a few more of these "days' in the near future.
Won't it be a pretty quilt???

Monday Making

The past week has been a productive one!
There are so many things that keep me busy around home.
I'm thankful for the activity ...productive activity....that fills my days!

I added vegetables from my husband's garden to every meal.
His hobby takes more time than MINE these days.
Haha.

I ran into an old quilt I had given away.
LOVE THIS one!

Those little 9 patches are 3".  They were tiny for me as a beginner when I made this.

I remember wanting to use that border fabric I found in the remnant section
and finding the scraps here to go with it.

I had this in my HAND MADE-finished-ready to gift drawer.
:)
There's a new baby boy in town that needs a little something!

I'm getting better and more confident at bread making!!
Yeah!!
It's always been a dream of mine to be a bread maker.
I think I'm THERE!
This recipe is ---
Julia Child's White Sandwich Bread.
It didn't disappoint.

I like to slice the bread and freeze it ----after we eat few slices, of course!!

I also hung some herbs to dry.
:)

Monday Making

I have been making
CHRISTMAS IN JULY
projects this week.
(less that 2")

I have made them before...but this time
I am adding the beads and pearls around the outside.
I think it adds some  **SPARKLE**

I also made a HOLIDAY HEXAGON.

I hope to get one more Christmas project done
before the month is up!!!

I've also been enjoying my husband's garden....
and....

 Knitting outside.

I am LOVING ALL THE GREEN!!!

Monday Making

After getting my snowball quilt basted....finally.....

...I began some hand quilting this week.
Yeah!!!

Getting all those ugly basting stitches in
takes time...
but it is SO worth it!

I am using Perle cotton....
And hoping to add another color or two as I go.
One snowball at a time!

I posted about basting and quilting this quilt on my you tube channel.

Monday Making

I have always wanted a patriotic quilt.
This is the next best thing.
A little quilty banner to hang by the front door.
:)

I decided this was good idea on July 3.
It was finished on July 4.

No time like the PRESENT....right?

I used lots of little leftovers
And had so much fun moving them
This way and THAT!

Then I decided to make a quilt flag for one of my boys.
He recently moved out....
And I thought he’d like a little something HOMEY to hang up.
He did!!!
Woo hoo!!!

The flag part is a panel.
All I had to do was add the half square triangles.

With no picnics or parties to attend....
I had LOTS of time to make these fun little banners.
