Pretty in Pink

One of the VERY simplest quilts to put together
is a quilt with strips.

These strips are cut 3" wide.
Sewn together in pairs and triplets...
and cut 10" wide.

Three rows of strips.
Two borders. (one 2 1/2" and one 6")

Put it ALL TOGETHER..
and folks...
You have a quilt!!!
(singing the hokey pokey as I write that!)
LOL!

Believe it or NOT...
I was able to sew this up in ONE afternoon.

I DID have most of the fabric PULLED.
THAT is what sometimes takes ALL the time!!
:)

If I hand quilt with some black thread....
like I'd LIKE...
The HOURS will add up!!!
Just HOW much to hand quilt is the question...
and WHERE???
I don't have the time to hand quilt it all.
Wish I did.

This "black and white with pink ALL OVER" quilt
is ALL stash.

I'm hoping that 2014 will be another
PURCHASE FREE year for me!
That's the goal.

Monday.

Has life got you DOWN on this Monday morning???
I have the answer.
I have the Elixir.
I have folks......
THE TONIC!!!!
(Something that invigorates, restores, refreshes,
or stimulates!!!)

ORANGE and PINK.

That's it.
It's THAT simple.

You simply walk to your fabric stash and
PULL out BRIGHT oranges and pinks.
They can't be subtle.
They can't be mild.
They can't be muted.

Sew some 3" wide strips together.
You may even have some precut squares to pop in there!!!!

This is a FREE Prescription.
There are no hidden fees.
No hidden costs.

Just YOU and your MACHINE.
Happy together...
with ORANGE and PINK!!!!

strips in pink

This quilt began because of
this.......

My strip basket was getting full.
This is a problem I wanted to solve.
;)
My scraps are pretty well organized....
The 2", 2 1/2", 3"....etc. squares go into their respective bags.
The small pieces go into their "color drawer".
And....
the strips leftover from trimming backings,
bindings,
etc.
go into this basket.
There are ALL widths and lengths included.

I sewed 2, 3 or 4 strips together
then..
cut them into 2 1/2" segments.

Made some LONG segmented strips 2 1/2" wide....
 and.....
VIOLA!
A quilt was born.

Lots of PINK.
RED....because every quilt needs a little red.
WHITE..... because I like what white does to a quilt.
Ooooh!
And I had to add some other colors to make it sing!!!!

It's not quilted.
When will I quilt it?
When will I quilt the last few quilt tops I've pieced???
When will I WANT to quilt a quilt???
These questions
SPIN
around my mind.
I avoid them.
I piece another quilt.
:)
