Fall

The leaves are turning color here....
but the weather has YET to cooperate!

The leaves say FALL.
The weather says SUMMER.

I decided to listen to the leaves
and do a little Christmas sewing.
(Christmas tree skirt)

There's one thing I know about myself.
I like to TWEAK patterns...
OR better yet...
use NO pattern.
But I was kind of surprised I would do it to a pattern

LOL!

Instead of quilting this and adding binding
like the pattern instructs...
I made it PILLOWcase fashion.

Added some swirly lines.....for interest....

and in another TRUE to FORM move....
I used some old curtains for the back!

THRIFTY.
My middle name.
;)

Here it is BEFORE the swirly stitching.
Hmmm.....
I kind of like it this way too!

Too late.

Christmas is coming!

I Designed a simple Christmas tree skirt this week.
Pulled the fabric.
Did some calculations.
Took LOTS of pictures.

This Christmas tree skirt was fun to make and design.
Instead of using batting in the middle.
I used just a heavy weight cotton.
This "quilt" is only TWO layers.
I ALMOST used some fleece!

I kind of like the LIGHT weight feel.
PLUS....
storage is always TIGHT
when it comes to all those CHRISTMAS decorations.
It won't take up much room at ALL!
;)

Well this is ALL I've done to prepare for the holidays.
And you know what???
I probably won't do another thing until
Thanksgiving is over and done!
Then...
I'll be scurrying around!!.....
Wondering why I WAITED!!!
LOL!

Pattern for this tree skirt is listed in my shop
