I talked about the quilt that was loved to DEATH
on my you tube channel this week.
Do you have any of those??
This above photo shows my attempt
at recreating the block I made many years ago!
It's a sad looking quilt....
but it definitely was LOVED!!
What are YOU making this week?
Such a cute quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute block. Yep, I remade my first quilt several times. It was an Log Cabin quilt from Eleanor Burn's first book. Lesson learned: you need to tie your quilt more than every 12" or so!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have a quilt I am wearing to death as I type. It’s almost 20 years old and had been well loved.

Well loved quilts are the best. Looks like you did pretty well at replicating the pattern. Is the plan for a new quilt or to use the new block to repair the old quilt?
ReplyDeleteQuilts are meant to be used and loved! While it's sad that it's worn out...it's also heartwarming!
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet! that recreation of your block is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, I have one of those that my mother made for my son, about 20 years ago. I'm in the process of remaking it. It's been about a year now. I hope to have the borders on soon. I really disliked piecing it without a pattern but I know that I will love quilting it! Good luck. I think that as quilt makers we can't ask for anything better than being loved to death :-)
ReplyDeleteBeth I think it’s the greatest compliment to have a quilt loved to death. Looking forward to seeing how your recreation of this treasure progresses.
ReplyDeleteAwe, I love a good quilt story! They all have one. For me it is who made one with me and who bought the fabric with me, etc...
