Monday Making

What have I been making?
Mostly making memories with the grandchildren in Texas.
But.... I did get a little sewing in.
:)

A few weeks ago I made a log cabin block on foundation.

This week....(I have very little in the way of sewing supplies).....
I made the same thing with the center square ON POINT.

Can anyone help me with the name of this block?

Is it a log cabin “on point”?

I know some of you quilters will know the answer!

What are YOU making this week???

  1. I don't know if a log cabin on point has a different name or not, so I'm no help there. But it looks like you are taking a bite out of your scrap bins, hopefully they look much emptier. Enjoy the family time.

  2. I'd just call it a log cabin variation, they look like antique blocks, very cute. Happy stitching!

  7. Hmm... I have probably 5 books on log cabins... from the late 80s to mid 2010's. I don't remember seeing log cabins put on point in them. Although one of these days I'll have to thumb through the books to see if any have on point versions. Maybe you've come up with a new version of Log Cabin. They look neat.

  8. Regardless of what you call them, those log cabins are looking pretty snazzy.
