Monday Making

I had a teeny tiny bit of that cute alphabet fabric in my stash.
JUST enough to put this little toddler quilt together.
Truth be told....
I had to piece one of the 6" squares.
Can you see it in the bottom left??
;)

I used a smattering of yellows for the sashings
and blues from my 3" square drawer.
Do YOU have a 3" square drawer?
and a  2", 2 1/2",......drawer as well?

I also added to my newest scrappy project this week.
Last week I had ONE block.
Now it has some company!

What are YOU making this week??

  1. Love the toddler quilt. Yellow is such a happy color and just perfect for a little one. Your scrappy project looks like a lot of fun and a great way to work down your scrap drawers.

  2. I love that alphabet fabric! Especially since I am working on an alphabet quilt.
Great scrappy log cabin blocks too!

  3. The alphabet print is charming -- and good for you for using it ALL! The slab blocks are coming along nicely.

  4. It's an adorable little quilt! I have a 2 1/2" supply of squares, which I should probably use one of these days!

  6. I am happy that your one little block has friends now! They can grow quickly if we focus!
Great baby quilt top as well. It is wonderful when we can use leftovers to create beautiful things!

  7. Love that sweet yellow and blue quilt. I’m planning on using that smashing method on Bonnie Hunter's block of the year once I’ve made way too many! And yes I have squares cut 1.5, 2, 2.5, and a few 3” ones. I may drop the 1.5s as I seldom use them. I’m trying to cut back what I have hanging around the studio. Probably won’t get far with that idea.

  9. You always inspire me, Beth! Love how you made those alphabet scraps up into a quick toddler quilt -- that would be a good way to move the leftover butterfly print fabric right out of my busting-at-the-seams stash. And the log cabin block is looking even happier now that he has buddies!

  10. What a fun toddler quilt! I believe I have some remnants of that same fabric. I may borrow your idea? It's quite creative!
