I finished this quilt top recently
and almost forgot to BLOG about it!!
I love the way the solid strips pop out among
the old calicos.
Of course, the red pops are great too!!
It took me awhile to get it to the TWIN size it is now.
I had thought I'd add a border of some sort...
but decided to stretch it bigger with some more blocks!
Yes...
That was more challenging...but I DO like the way it turned out.
:)
What are YOU making this week??
I really like your quilt. My eye keeps moving across it to see the colours and look for patterns! That makes it a winner in my books :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Yvonne. :)
DeleteYour windowpane blocks sparkle! What size are the squares/blocks?

DeleteThe squares are 6 1/2" squares cut into fourths.
Deletethe sashings are 1 1/2"x 3 1/4"
the red centers are 1 1/2"x 1 1/2" squares.
Happy sewing!
very pretty....isn't scrappy fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great scrap quilt, love it!
ReplyDeleteVery colorful! It's a fun scrap quilt. Love all those pops of color.
ReplyDeleteThis is a delightful scrappy quilt. The block and sashing sizes make it a challenge to keep going larger, but you did it!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I love how the solids interact with the prints!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like that idea for scraps!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this one! Great use of scraps and love the sashing with pop of red.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! Love the use of solids for the sashings.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful. Lots of fun scraps to pour over. I bet I'd recognize some of those fabrics it I looked really carefully!
ReplyDeleteLove this so much! It really sparkles and has wonderful energy. It's so cool that you have older calicos hiding in this quilt too. Lots of feel goods here.:)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this quilt. Thank you for sharing, dear.
ReplyDeleteScrappy quilts are my favorite, probably because I was first introduced to my great grandmother’s quilts, and she used the fabric she had on hand. Born in 1900, quilt shops likely didn’t come into existence until the latter part of her life. Your quilt is beautiful! Filled with so much scrappy goodness!
