Monday Making

Quilts DO grow...but it takes time.

I have a few more bars and red cornerstones to go on this one...
Then...
I'll have to figure out if I like it the size it ends up.
OR...
Will I want to GROW IT bigger???

I love how this "just because" quilt is looking!

+++++++++++++++

I am using 6 1/2" squares - cut into fourths.
(they are mostly old calicos)

The strips are 1 1/2" x 3 1/4"
(using my stash of solids- many vintage - free hand-me-downs)

The red cornerstones are 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"
(again, a vintage-like solid that I've almost used up!)

+++++++++++++++++

My husband's garden is also looking good!
There is always something fresh to eat.

:)

What are YOU making this week??

  2. Happy Labor Day. Very fun blocks. It has to feel good to be using up some of the older odds and ends.

  8. Seems like this one is growing quickly. Some quilts sure seem to grow faster than others. I really like this idea and may have to adapt it to use what scraps I have. No 6.5 inch scraps here but I do have 3.5 or 2.5 scraps to use that would work as well.
