Right now...I am playing with COLOR!!!!

I am traveling and these little balls of yarn are keeping my hands busy!

Who knows how large this little blanket will get? ..........

 I am having so much fun with each line of color!!

How can something so simple be so fun?

Monday Making

It was a full week.

I made a charity quilt using this pattern.

I wanted to try another color scheme.

As you can tell.....I'm on a pink and green kick!

If you're familiar with the disappearing 9 patch...

this is a twist on that idea.  ;)

We finished up the challenger baseball season!

I Celebrated a birthday.

Did some machine quilting........that I still need to finish up.

I found some orphans to fill in the back!

:)

And there was some knitting in between it ALL!!!

Hoping to finish this simple vest for my daughter very soon.

This week I was able to completely finish a quilt!

Binding and ALL.

Woo hoo!

Polka dot binding makes this one extra fun!

Maybe I'll get this quilt top from January quilted too!!

Graduation is right around the corner.

Deadlines are GOOD.

This Grandma can use ALL the help she can get!

My husband made sure we had enough flowers for Mother's day.

What a great guy!

This week I was able to quilt...quilt...

and quilt some more!!!

I spent time Loop-de-looping all over the quilts!

:)

In other words.....I did my signature DOODLE.

I LOVE this fun flower backing I used for the scrappy quilt.

I found a large piece of this vintage daisy fabric a while back.

It was a TAD short.....so I added that little bit of stripe and pink strip

to make it big enough.

I'm on a roll.

Maybe I'll get some more quilt tops quilted THIS week!

My sally post floral quilt is moving along...

One little tiny block at a time!

There are 36  blocks total so I'm over halfway there!

Woohoo!

I was very happy to have time in the sewing room this week.

This scrappy quilt top was almost done when I realized it was going to be 

TOO short!

(my daughter needs a longer quilt this time!)

I added blocks to the bottom and top 

and it really changed the look of the whole quilt.

I thought there would be Triangles all around...

Now there are scrappy squares on the bottom and top!

As I've said before...

Necessity is the mother of invention...or design in this case.

I wasn't sure how I'd lengthen this one...

But I DO like what HAPPENED!!!

I also did some harvesting.....

and roasting.

There is nothing quite like HOME grown!

:)

As the week progressed I saw a quilt block I couldn't resist.

Kathleen Tracy's quilt blocks had me intrigued...

so I made a few.

(I did not use her pattern, but did a little figuring on my own.

You'll see my leaves are not quite like hers

and I think my blocks may be smaller.)

A new baby quilt is now underway!!!!

Did I need another sewing machine?

No. I didn't.

I wasn't going to purchase this SWEET little green number,

but I couldn't get it out of my mind.

I was dreaming in GREEN, believe me!

I went back to the thrift store and it was still there.

AND not only THAT....

the price was lower!!!

Hmmmm...

I guess you know what I did.

 I've been sewing up a storm ever since

on my new little friend!.......

Making a string quilt.

The scraps are flying!!!

I was also honored to have an art quilt

included in a local exhibit at Greenly art space.

Mine was the only quilt.

What fun!!!

Hospital sketches quilt along.

Making each of the blocks MY OWN!
