BFF

I DO say NO to my children....
just NOT when they ask me to
MAKE something!!!

This little "red girl" found a new home....
Right into my daughter's arms yesterday!

I gave her a pocket because my little one loves the story
"A Pocket for Cordouroy"....
A very sweet children's book about a Bear wanting a pocket!

I had some old striped fabric that Makes great tights
and an old shirt made some fun shoes.

Her hair is an experiment.
I had this ribbon and wondered how it might look.
I think it works just fine.

Amazing what rick rack can do to perk up
some old vintage fabric!

Oh ....Aint' she cute?

Here they are together.
We said goodbye to little miss green on the right today...
But we'll see her on family play dates!
Woo HOo!

Julie in WA asked for a tutorial...so.....
I just might explain how I did it next time!
Have a great weekend!

cute

I made a doll that goes with the baby quilt!

This is the second rag doll I've made...
and I love her!

I just might make another for my
7 year old little girl.
She's requested RED...
and she's already talking about
WHAT they're going to DO together!
Too Cute!

Let the scrappy FUN begin again!

squares

First there were the BIG 6" squares given to me Sunday.
I couldn't get those bright green calicos out of my mind!

I HAD to sew them together with some bright colors
because VICTORIA gave me inspiration yesterday.
And...
Because this task WASN'T on my "to do" list!!!
Do you ever do the thing that DOESN'T NEED to be done
FIRST???
;/

It's bright and cheery now.
And twin size!!!!

This one will be heading to the BASICS donation drive...
after I figure out the backing and get it quilted!
(details...details....)

I love it.

Then there are LITTLE squares winging their way to me!

Little tiny pieces of blog love!

Thank you friends for adding some love to this quilt!

Crazy Kids quilt

Before blogging....there were quilts.
Lots of quilts!

This is one I made for my son a long time ago.
He chose the centers of these crazy blocks....
and I added the scraps.
I'm PRETTY good with scraps!
;)

This is the FIRST quilt I free motion quilted!
Oh Boy!!! It's a wonder I kept at it
after looking at my stitches here!!!
Eeeek!
But I did....
And I can see that there's been some improvement!

Yep.
Practice makes Perfect Pretty good!

happy scrappy fun!

It's hard to resist a request for just ONE quilt block.
How long can ONE block take?
Not long....but.......
Usually LONGER than I expect.
That's o.k.

This one was fun and it sure looks happy!!!

I will say though...
....those 7/8" measurements
INTIMIDATE me!!!

Sometimes I wish I could throw
MATh and MEASUREMent
Out the WINDOW
when I'm quilting!!!

And you know me...
SOMETIMES I DO!
;)

past.present.future.

Last night....
 I delivered my donation quilt.
Sooo....I guess it's really not MY quilt....
But I DID help a little!!!
I'm Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the FINISH! ;(

I TRY to add to this pile
ONCE a month.
It doesn't always happen...
but that's my GOAL.

My Local quilt guild,
Quilters by the Sea in Long Beach, CA,
does an outstanding job of
Making,
Collecting,
and
Distributing
QUILTS!!!

Here's the lady that is really the MUSCLE
behind this operation.
Thanks Randy!!!

Today...
I'm packed for an overnighter.
This is the MOST important bag.
I can do without a lot of things.....
But NOT my handwork!

Do you think this quilt will survive a
ONE night camping trip?

Yeah.
Me too.
In fact...if I'm cold....you know what I'll do!
;)

The backing is so happy!!!
Glad I had these chunks of fabric to back it with!

Tomorrow.....
I'll cut some flowers for the table.

Maybe the grapes will be ripe.

Tomorrow...
or the next day....
there'll be another zucchini to
sneak into dinner.
I have lots of fun figuring out
new and unique ways of using this
wonderful vegetable!

And tomorrow....
Maybe this pepper will be joining that zucchini in
something or other!!!
;)

dinner decisions

I don't know about you...
but for me....
It's EASIER to sew scrappy hot pads together,
than it is to
DECIDE
what to cook for dinner!!!!
:/
