Red and Green

This is a Jelly Roll...PLUS...a little from my stash.

It has an old fashioned Christmas feel to it!

My husband heard me say Jelly Roll

and he hasn't stopped teasing me about it!

"You working on your Pizza roll??",  he'll ask.

Or

"How's your sweet roll coming along??"

 

I was happy to use up some of that creamy old fashioned fabric

in the center there.

It fits RIGHT in!!!

 

Border...or NO border....???

that's what I have on my mind now!!

Two more houses, from Sharon and Jan,

are ready for a party!

We've got a GREAT neighborhood...

I found out that in OUR neighborhood

MOST of you have your OWN sewing room!!

84%!!!

I'm in the minority!

Surprise..Surprise!!! 

 

I mentioned to a few of you

that I kind of LIKE sewing

in the MIDST of family life!!!

I just need a DOOR to hide the MESS!!!

Ah well...

Someday there'll be LOTS of room to sew

but.....NO kiddos!!!

Then I'll be missing THEM!!!

 

 

 

Jelly Roll saga.

This looks like a jelly roll...doesn't it???

Well it's not.

I've been thinking about this video all week.

It's all about jelly roll races.

I wondered....

"How long does it take to sew a jelly roll together

End to End.

Then sew edges together

over and over again...

until it's a quilt!!!?"

I've even been wondering how to have

a jelly roll race in BLOGLAND!!!!

I didn't have a jelly roll here at home.

In fact....I've never owned a jelly roll before.

I really was curious.

Then....

I just happened to be at Joann's today.

And...

....I made an impulse buy!!!

The problem is:

It's NOT a jelly roll.

It's only 20. TWENTY. twenty...strips!!!!!

Oh boy!!!

I'm hot and bothered!!

 Jelly rolls are supposed to be 40 strips!!!

I should have known better than to buy something

without planning.

without reading carefully.

without my wits about me...

Do I ever have those anyways???;)

Now.

Do I go back and buy another Jelly (NOT jelly roll)???

(So that I'll have the required 40 strips)

Or.

Take this one back.

The problem is...

I can't seem to get it rolled up like it was BEFORE!!!!

Oh me!!

Oh my!!!

Can you See where my curiousity got me????
