The baseball and soccer games were cancelled today.
The PERFECT opportunity to stay home this morning
IN MY PAJAMAS and quilt!
I LOVE to quilt before getting dressed for my day :)
I love the backing
AND
the fact that I was able to squeeze in leftovers from the quilt in the middle.
Ties it ALL together!
A polka dot binding is the icing on the cake!
My quilting method is worth mentioning...
because it saves me some time.
First I lay the quilt on my kitchen table (after sandwiching)
and tape off TWO diagonal lines through the middle of the quilt.
I quilt those two LONG lines.
Then move out from there marking 3" from each seam with tape
as I go.
The tape hangs next to me and I add as I go.
One line at a time.
I use the tape pieces over and over again.
When I'm done they are ALL out of "sticky".
Before you know it
the quilt it DONE!
Looks great. I have a question on your lines. Do you always start at the same side of your quilt to start the next line?
ReplyDeleteI begin the line wherever I am. Wherever the bulk is LESS. I move from the center OUT. First one side, flip the quilt so I can begin the middle again......hope I'm being clear. ;)
DeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteThat's very nice. I like your corners. That's one thing I need to work on.
ReplyDeleteAnother sweet completion. Great quilting.
ReplyDeleteThat IS a very sweet quilt. Living a relaxed life by the beach and by myself I'm fortunate that I often sew before I'm dressed. I FORCE myself to be showered, dressed and "beautiful" by ten!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to quilt your lines. Thanks for the tip.:)
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing... it's so quick and easy!
ReplyDeleteI guess that the two first long lines must be an "X" to be able to key off of them in either direction, right? Thanks so much for the explanation!
ReplyDeleteYes. Those first two lines DO indeed form an X. You're welcome. ;)
DeleteWhy were the games canceled? Did you guys get that much rain?
ReplyDeleteI really like your diagonal quilting. They should call it painters/quilters tape!! The pink polka dots look fabulous on the binding.
No...not too much rain. I think they worry about ruining fields after the rain. Who knows?? I just know I got to QUILT! LOL!
