Monday Making

This quilt was NOT made by me.
It was pieced together and then donated to my local quilt guild.
It seems there are quite a few quilters who DON'T like to quilt.
:)

My goal is to quilt ONE of these pretty charity quilts
EACH month.
I don't usually post about these quilts...but I probably should!

My local guild packs them up with backing fabric
AND the binding.
They are ALL ready to GO!!

I enjoy quilting these lovely quilts.
There is NO STRESS involved!
They are the perfect place to practice machine quilting!

What are YOU making this week??

  2. What a great way to practise your quilting and add to the donated quilt collection.

  3. Sounds like the perfect low stress way to get in those practice stitches. Even better, it's for a great cause.

  4. I have found over the years of talking to quilters that we are "piecers/toppers" and we are true "quilters" from start to finish. some just do not want to actually do the quilting but love making the tops

  5. It's wonderful that you quilt those charity quilts. I've been quilting charity tops for my guild for several years. Good for you.

  6. This is such a gift of your time and yes, a great opportunity for practicing. Our guild has the same thing but I haven't done any (yet?). I should get more involved - it is a great way to serve the community.

  8. How nice to be able to do that! Our guild does that too, but I'm not sure if they supply the batting. It is nice for people who don't have a machine that will quilt a big quilt, but I never thought of the quilter getting to practice on it. Win win!

  9. I am definitely in the category of not liking to quilt larger quilts....to hard on my hands. But, I so admire those who do quilt their own, or other's, quilts. Such hand strength and talent! Your quilting looks lovely!

  10. When we all introduced ourselves here. We were received warmly by all those who participated in the event. Events at home studios NYC are a lot of fun, giving access to features that aren't always the easiest to get into and aren't always the most wallet friendly.
