I FINALLY started HAND quilting my "H" quilt!
It was at first difficult to decide HOW to quilt it.
Then it was hard to imagine HAND quilting the entire thing!
Just thinking about it slowed me down!
After getting a few H's done...
I'm not as hesitant to work on it!!
Amazing how just a few stitches can get the
ol' quilting juices going!
Haha!
I'm also working on a simple baby quilt.
Aahh.
Gotta love those simple scrappy quilts!!!
What are YOU making this week??
Good luck with your hand quilting. It is very relaxing, and it's amazing how quickly it will go!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the hand quilting.
ReplyDeleteSometimes getting going is the hardest step.
ReplyDeleteYou really do have a good eye for putting your scraps together with the most pleasing results. And yes, just starting a project can seem to require "gathering your forces" kind of feelings.
ReplyDeleteHand quilting is slow... of course... slow and beautiful. Harvard research stated last year that slow hand work induces calm.. even slows the heart rate and lowers blood pressure. A healthy occupation.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for hand quilting your H quilt. Well at least starting it. I have 2 quilts I'm hand quilting (or maybe not actually hand quilting) in progress. One is from about 2000. The other is from 2016. It is closing in on finishing but I've laid it aside to work on cross stitched ornaments for the grands. I'll be back at the hand quilting as soon as I finish the ornaments. Hope you are more dedicated than I am and get it finished soon.
ReplyDeleteSo very true! The hardest part is often just getting started. And like you, I can't think of the entire quilt or time that might be involved. It's going to be gorgeous when done though! The hand quilting always makes it better.:)
