It's time for Monday Making link up already!
My daughter delivered twin boys this past Monday
so I've been KIND OF busy. LOL!
I came prepared to sew during nap time...but the sewing machine here
is not cooperating.
Good thing I brought a lot of hand work!
These embroidery blocks have been in the UFO pile a long time.
Maybe I'll finish! ?????
Question:
Does anyone know what the dotted lines in the middle and sides are for?
Are they for quilting?
That's what I've always assumed...but now I'm wondering....
What are YOU making this week??
Congratulations on your twin grand babies!!! How wonderful! I don’t know what the dotted lines are for but your embroidery project is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful embroidery pieces. Not sure either but they are pretty. Congrats on the twins! how exciting
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Grandma! Is the piece you are working on supposed to be quilted? The lines don't seem to be enough for quilting; maybe a running stitch?
ReplyDeleteYes, the dotted lines are for quilting but don't quilt dot to dot if hand quilting. I've embroidered several quilts using these blocks. I normally soak them after the embroidery is completed as I want to use my own quilting designs. The ink doesn't always cooperate though and soak out. So nice you are able to help with the twins, I'm sure the help is very much needed!
ReplyDeleteDouble congrats!!;)) I can imagine you must be busy--my daughter had twins after her other two were born 1.5 years apart--so I stayed with her for quite a while helping out..we used the boppies a whole lot then--and now, they are jrs in High School--time does fly--altho' I will say sometimes it does seem to move very slowly,,,lol

Wouldn't they be running stitches? I love the hearts - is this a pattern that you purchased (pre-printed) a long time ago?
ReplyDeleteCOngrats on the Babies!!! I don't know much about embroidery... are you supposed to match another piece to it?
ReplyDeleteBabies!! Congrats to the new mama and I hope she's doing well! That embroidery piece is gorgeous. So worth digging out and finishing!
ReplyDeletethat is precious! I'd say it's for your choice... chain stitch maybe... jo8ined into the motif. I used to do a lot of it, but not recently. I love the colors and this design.
ReplyDeleteTwins! Twice the love. Glad you're finishing up that embroidery - very pretty!
ReplyDeleteLovely embroidery!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the twins! Enjoy the family and your embroidery :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats. The dots? I don't know what they are for but I think I would embroider knots.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your twin grandbabies! I've been enjoying your posts on Instagram! I'm pretty sure the lines are for running stitches.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Congratulations on the twins!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the twin grands!
ReplyDeleteI do not know what those lines are for....but, If you plan on using this as a flattie (table topper kind of thing), I think those lines would look fabulous stem stitched the same color as the background fabric. Looking forward to seeing more!
First of all, huge congratulations on the new additions to the family! Exciting...and busy.
ReplyDeleteI love your embroidery piece, definitely should be finished. I think the lines are there for quilting the piece.
I completed an embroidery crib quilt with very similar hearts and flowers, but had a bear in the middle. I bet it was from the same manufacturer. All the blue lines were for embroidery on mine.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new grandchildren!
