Here's the first quilt top for 2012!
Simple and Sweet.
The baby was born Jan. 1....
so it HAD to be simple!
I had the PERFECT fabric for the outside border.....
But RAN OUT!!!
Don't you hate that???
Aaah well....
I added a piece of something else.
NOW...
If YOU won't TELL it's NOT part of the "DESIGN"...
I WON'T TELL either!!!
That's just what quilting friends DO!!!!
You know I'm using the word "DESIGN" loosely...
since this is one of those quilts
that didn't begin with much of a PLAN!!!
;)
I made one similar to this one for a baby boy almost TWO years ago
and I've always wanted to make one similar for a baby girl!
Love those little HAPPY scraps in there!!!
I'm OFF to quilt this!
Straight lines????
wavy????
Hmmm.......
A great start for the start of 2012... and you could stitch the babies details in the ''new design piece or applique the name'' then it would look like you meant it to be like that so the details stand out hahaha like your thinking xxx
ReplyDeleteA new year's baby? How fun!!!! I am sure she will love her quilt.

Even for a quick quilt, I really like it! Very nice colors and quilts are supposed to have random pieces right?
ReplyDeleteYou've got off to a great start.....as usual well ahead of the field. Its really sweet.
ReplyDeleteHa! That's the way I design all of my quilts -- pretty much making it up as I go and changing it up when I run and of a certain material (or make a cutting error). Very sweet quilt! You're off to a great start in 2012!
ReplyDeleteGosh I actually love that you ran out and improvised the border. I like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many great ideas for simple quilts! It reminds me that it doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWavy!
ReplyDeleteHugs~
How long did it take you?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quilts are those that we just make quickly, without thinking too much - like these sweet number. Perfect for a little girl!
