Congratulations on your new grandbaby. It is the BEST thing ever. Our first grandbaby is 5 months old, and is a true joy to our hearts. I'm sure she would love one of your rag dolls, to start.
Congratulations Grandma!! Yes, one of your dolls with matching 'tag' blankie, some cloth blocks, burp clothes, hooded towel, and love the shoes. Oh, getting cold - a fleece hat and little mitts on clips.
Many congratulations to grandma and the rest of the family, and what an adorable little girl she is! I have been searching the web for baby projects too, and there are so many that it's hard to choose. My favorite was bibs with terry cloth on the back which would be very useful. I will also make super simple baby pants.
One beautiful grandaughter and one beautifully proud grandmother, welcome ! Try http://attic24.typepad.com/ http://vintagericrac.blogspot.com/ http://easymakesmehappy.blogspot.com/ and check out some of the blogs they read. Lots of creative mother's and grandmothers. congratulations.
Congratulations, Beth! Grandchildren are the best thing about getting older! Have fun sewing for her. can't wait to see your future posts about things you'll be sure to make! I pray that God will bless her and watch over her of her life!
I'm very happy for you, Beth. I hope you love being a grandmother and get to see your wee girl often as she's growing up. You have such a wide range of sewing opportunities with a girl... all those cute clothes! You'll be sew busy sewing, even more (if that's possible). Blessings on all of you.
Great photo- beaming grandmother, sweet and healthy granddaughter. Congrats. Go sew those cute shoes. Then visit Lil' Blue Boo site and click on patterns under the "shop" button. She has patterns for adorable skirts, dresses.. most from "upcycled" t-shirts. Her blog is very lively, and usually features her little girl. Lots of tutorials there as well. But the downloadable patterns... the best. And links to other sewing sites there, too. Happy sewing.
Oh yes, and another blog I follow has a cute upcycled baby cap. The author, Alisa Burke, just gave birth to a little girl, and you'll want to check this out. Have fun. http://alisaburke.blogspot.com/
Congratulations! My grandbaby is 3 years old now and still a great joy. She loves pinks and purples and quilts. My suggestion is to make large quilts that can be used for making tents with the furniture, giving magic carpet rides to her dolls and stuffed animal friends, and cuddling in on cool mornings. I wish I had started bigger quilts when she was new. Now I am playing catch up.
Congratulations! I usually make small baby quilts that can be used by the parents right away and can be used by the child later as a dolly's or teddy bear's quilt. Enjoy every moment!
A grandchild! Congratulations to you and everyone else in your family. You'll be making those shoes for sure and probably everything else people have suggested. :)
In case I haven't said it yet, congratulations on the new little one! I wonder how your plans for sewing may change in the coming days? The shoes are a great beginning, but it looks like you did get a good list of other suggestions already!
Congratulations! She looks beautiful with her Grandma. Happy sewing. Looking forward to seeing your creations. There are just so many!. I just saw the most adorable girls top at Made by Rae. It will be released soon. the link to it is http://www.made-by-rae.com/2011/10/pierrot-testing/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=pierrot-testing
Congratulations on the safe arrival of your new grandaughter. I have had no internet connection for the last week, so missed this until today when I am using my daughter's connection. You will really enjoy that little 'future needlewoman' :-)
I am just now seeing your blog, but wanted to congratulate you on your little granddaughter! I am sure you are having a great time making things for her! My first grandchild, also a little girl, is four and a half now and her baby brother is due to be born in two weeks. I also have a little grandson who is 14 months old. I sew and crochet things for the boys, but especially love sewing for the girl. I have been making tons of little pillowcase and shirred dresses, as well as layered "twirl skirts" which she loves! I sewed a lot for my first child, a little boy, and then less and less, with each child added. My first daughter was my fourth child, and second daughter was my sixth child, so I did not have time to sew for them very much. I am really appreciating having the time to sew for my granddaughter. At this age, she loves everything I make her, which means a great deal to me!
