CLICKETY

CLICKETY...CLICK...CLICK...CLICK...
CLICKETY.....

This is NOT what your sewing machine should sound like!!!!
Mine did.

I did the ol' dust the lint routine.....
with a toothbrush......

 I even opened the bottom of the machine
and did a thorough cleaning.
I call this a sewing machine OPERATION!!

CLICKETY...CLICK..CLICK.....

I did the oil the machine routine in all the approriate places...
I think....Maybe I missed a couple....

CLICKETY....CLICK....CLICK...CLICK....

oH yeah!!!!!!!

A new NEEDLE!!!!
That's what we need here!

Now when was the last time I changed the needle???
Hmmm.......Can't remember.....
Guess.......
It's TIME!!!!

We're humming along now!!!
HMMMMMMMM...........

Life is GOOD!!!!

  1. Frances Moore says to change your needle every time you need a new bobbin. That might be a bit much; but, it does mean change your needle often. :-)

  4. I was having the same trouble and just changed my needle this morning. Now it doesn't sound like its trying to puncture cement - lol!

  5. Nice to figure out the problem without a big bill, and your machine will appreciate the cleaning & oiling, too. =) My SIL is learning to sew and asked me if I change the needle with each project (that's what the book suggested), I only change mine when it breaks or isn't working right!

  6. I was worried you were going to say your machine died or was getting serviced! But it's true: a new needle does the trick almost every time for me. I change them OFTEN.

  7. I remember when I bought my machine they told me to change the needle first if it didn't work right. I hate to tell you how many times that has worked - slipped stitches, noise, etc.
