Monday Making

I have been trying the past few years to use ONLY my stash.

I have been successful MOST of the time.

**Wink wink**

This little baby quilt is from my flannel bucket.

Flannel quilts are soft.

They are cuddly

and they are CUTE.

:)

As you can tell.....

I didn't have quite enough of the same fabrics to make this one

matchy matchy.

But I like it all the same!

Maybe I like it MORE!!!

Here is the produce harvested yesterday.

My husband's garden continues to keep me busy in the kitchen.

I've enjoyed the green beans this year.

I steam the beans.....

make a DIP using mayo and a little soy sauce.

We dip them in the sauce and eat them like french fries.

YUM!!!

Perler beads.

That's what I've been up to.

Helping my youngest FIND her craft.

:)

She has some special needs

and I wondered if she'd ever hit on something that

she really enjoyed doing

and something that she was capable of doing.

We found it

and I'm so happy!

This week I will be doing a lot of this....

and watching the kids play card games

at the camp site.

I'll try and get some exercise between

these lazy peaceful activities.

LOL.

I'll also be hand quilting.

Isn't the backing I found at the thrift store wonderful?

It is a vintage cotton that I KNEW would come in handy someday.

Someday is HERE.

This week I hope to be hand quilting

a very BLUE quilt.

I'm not at liberty to show the whole quilt yet....

but this little peek shows I have my work cut out for me!

 I will also be eating healthy.

What would you make with these ingredients?

I typically add the vegetable to WHATEVER I'm making.

I made a stir fry with some leftover chicken and pasta with these.

The cucumber appears at the table EVERY night in a little dish.

Nothing fancy. 

Sliced or stick shaped.

It's all GOOD.

All of you quilters know....

It's a connection with PEOPLE

that I just LOVE!

It's a way to CELEBRATE 

and ENCOURAGE milestones and achievements!

These are 3 of the graduates that received quilts this year.

I SO enjoy making the quilts

and sharing some quilty LOVE with these 

AMAZING young adults!

Monday Making

My Monday Making post is a bit early this week.

I have the time...

so I thought I'd post now, rather than later!

This eyeglass case was an easy little project.

A friend requested one when she saw mine

and believe it or NOT...I had the same scraps in my bin!

TWO years LATER!!  LOL!

I didn't have to wonder which colors to use, since I knew

she'd seen mine and it appealed to her.

I gave it to her on Thursday not knowing that

she'd had a really hard morning that day.

Isn't it GREAT to give a little quilt LOVE

and find it's the perfect timing too???

I also made a set of little place mats for ME this week.

They're actually going to be used by the kids.

Even cold cereal gets to look pretty!!

Here's another peek into my week.

Yes...It was a busy one.

I thought I'd be sewing these together...

but after making a lot of blocks, I really didn't want to make any more.

(lazy? kind of)

I also knew that there are a LOT of seams to match up!

What if????

I add sashing.

Scrappy sashing??

I'll let it percolate a bit.....

Gives me something happy to THINK about.

One great thing about quilting is the 

happy things we can ponder.

Today we're harvesting.

I'll need to make some deliveries since we can't eat it all.

Not sure what the week ahead holds.

But I DO know....

I'll be stitching!

And cooking something GREEN.

I began quilting some lines this weekend....

That's it.

BUT....it's a beginning....right???

Hopefully this week will bring some TIME.

This quilt needs to be finished soon.
