It was a beautiful week in the mountains.
And...
I was able to bind my little basket quilt.
I always love having hand work when I’m camping!
My little quilt even has the sleeve attached...
With a dowel...
And is proudly hanging in my room.
YEAH for a finish!!
More info on this little quilt on my youtube channel.
;)
What are YOU making this week?
Lovely finish and looks like a beautiful campground too.

Congrats on a very fun finish. Sitting and hand stitching while enjoy the scenery sounds like an idea weekend. Happy stitching this week.
ReplyDeleteYour baskets are charming!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great quilt - and what a pretty place!
ReplyDeleteYour basket quilt is adorable. Kudos for the hanging sleeve, the dowel and already hanging it!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteReally like those baskets...so pretty!
Have a great day!
I love to stitch or knit in the woods! Lovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteStitching in the woods, so fun. And you made a lovely little quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhen I make the sleeve, I begin like you, doing the ends, then I fold the sleeve wrong sides together and sew a seam. A larger dowel inserted helps to press the seam open. This will go toward the top back of the quilt. I will then hand stitch along the top of the sleeve to the back of the quilt, then make a 1/4" tuck in the sleeve before stitching the bottom, so that the roundness of the dowel will not cause a bulge in the front of the quilt. Having the sleeve all the way around the dowel protects the quilt from the acid in the wood, and can be replaced if discoloring of the fabric shows up from the acid in the wood.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect spot to indulge in some hand sewing. Well done to even get the hanging sleeve on it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little quilt!:)
